the guy who plays the Minister here, is also the actor who played Davy Jones in the Pirates of the Carribean movie! You should watch the deleted scenes from this and part two. There's a deleted scene with a kind of reconciling between Harry and Dudley. Harry and Voldemort's wands each contain a phoenix feather from Dumbledore's phoenix Fawkes. Dunno if anyone's mentioned it, but George's ear was cursed off with Sectumsempra by Snape. Love that you noticed George put the toothbrush in his ear lol I am sad that they didn't include Kreacher's character arc. The book is so good and his life is a sad one as well though in a different way from Dobby's experience. Kreacher parroted the Black family values, being one of those old Pureblood families obsessed with remaining pure and viewing muggles as lesser. Kreacher was very fond of Regulus, but no one really explained to Kreacher that his master had had a change of heart and when the Trio take shelter there he reacts against Hermione and Ron as he called them 'mudblood' and 'blood traitor' (The Weasley's are considered Blood Traitors among the old Pureblood families because the Weasley's don't see muggles as lesser and a few have married muggles). Also, I think you are the first reactor I've seen that realized that 1.) they weren't calling him Voldemort anymore, and 2.) Guessing the reason why they weren't saying it after the scene with Mr. Lovegood.

2025-07-05 02:09:21 +0000 UTCThere were two mirror's, Remus and Sirius used to use them to talk to one another, by saying the person's name into one of the mirror's it would allow whoever had the two mirrors to talk to one another no matter the distance. But Harry's mirror got broken at the bottom of his school trunk, which is why he only has a piece of it. The other mirror was with Aberforth - he bought it from Mundungus who had gone through Sirius' house looking for things of value to sell

2025-07-05 01:46:32 +0000 UTCHagrid's motorbike belonged to Sirius. He left it with Hangrid to take Harry to his family. "Take it, I don't need it any more" He then went looking for Peter to avenge his friends, which led to his capture 🥺 and did you know that Harrys Parents just were 21 years old?

2025-06-25 17:13:08 +0000 UTC1:16:10 When wizards Apparate (Or DisApparate), there's a risk of failing to Apparate correctly, which results in the risk of Splinching. Splinching is the "negative side effect" of Apparating/DisApparating incorrectly, which includes mostly injuries but not limited to: cuts, twisted body parts (including the neck), missing chunks of flesh or body parts, etc. Part of this reason is due to fast traveling through time and space, to the point you are 'warping' your body like through a Black Hole. 1:18:00 Very good question. The "Soul" does not make something alive, at least not physically, and its only a piece of the Soul, it requires a human body to be truly alive. However, a good question would be "can we use a Dementor" to suck the piece of "Soul" from the locket? 1:38:40 The movie fails to explain this, but there is a really good reason why Harry and others refuse and can no longer say Voldemort's name anymore. As you know, there's a "Trace" on Harry. Basically any young wizard/witch who becomes able to use magic and is a student in school (in London or UK presumably), will automatically have "Trace" Magic locked onto them. That means whenever a student uses magic, the Ministry of Magic will get a record of it in their "system". At the start of this movie, they were wondering how two Death Eaters tracked them down to the cafe when they Apparated to a location based on Hermione's memories. The reason why the Death Eaters were able to track them is because whenever someone mentions Voldemort's name, it is Traced, and that also means information regarding the location of the person who was Traced is revealed. It's a genius ploy by Voldemort and the newly installed Minister of Magic to squash anyone who dares to rebel or plot against Voldemort by bravely saying his name. So to avoid Voldemort finding their location, they must avoid speaking his name because the Death Eater who is the new Minister of Magic, has changed the Trace system to detect anyone who mentions Voldemort's name. 2:26:50 The movie again, did a poor job of explaining things because they assume everyone watching the movies have read the books. Harry received a gift from Sirius when they met each other (this was either at Sirius' home or when they visited in public, you prob remember the scene when Sirius gave the photo of the Order of the Phoenix to Harry). Sirius gave a piece of a mirror/glass, which was meant as a way to "communicate" with another person who also carried the other piece of the mirror/glass. It was assumed that both Sirius and Harry has the mirror/glass piece, and can therefore use them as "walkie talkies" to communicate with each other or at least see each other. In the book, Harry would sometimes look at this piece of glass/mirror and he would tend to see a certain person looking back at him. Someone who looked "familiar", which he thought to be Dumbledore (but we find out it was actually Aberforth, Dumbledore's brother)

2025-06-09 03:48:44 +0000 UTCYeah, as an American right now, these movies are hitting completely differently than they ever have before.

2025-05-31 21:37:50 +0000 UTCAt the end, the movie could simply read "C'est la merde, c'est TELLEMENT LA MERDE" x) At some point, I'd recommend you to try the French Version, which is wonderful, really ! (Quickly ! Part 2 ! :D I've been binge Watching it all. I need the ending and to see your face in awe of it !)

2025-05-01 03:51:36 +0000 UTCNot sure if this was mentioned in a comment yet, but the actor who plays Moody (Brendon Gleeson) and the actor who played Bill Weasley (Domhnall Gleeson) are father and son in real life. So knowing that little tidbit, Bill telling everyone that Moody was dead makes it more heartbreaking. Oh, and also, Charlie (who we never ever see) is the name of the Weasley brother who studies dragons. Bill is the eldest Weasley child and he works for the Wizard bank Gringott's as a curse-breaker. He actually shows up earlier in the book series (Goblet of Fire).

2025-04-29 20:55:33 +0000 UTCHonestly, this book reminds me of the current political situation in the U.S., as international students get rounded up with no due process for liking tweets and publishing op-eds

2025-04-28 11:43:30 +0000 UTCAnother wonderful reaction! Question: Sofie as we get close to wrapping up the franchise, do you plan to react to the 20th anniversary Harry Potter special HBO did a few years ago? It features almost the entire cast reuniting for the first time since the movies, along with directors/producers and lots of good behind the scenes stories! I think it would be a really fun watch for you and a sweet way to close out the Potter world ☺️☺️☺️

2025-04-27 21:49:00 +0000 UTCSofie once again proving that she's my favorite reactor. Thank you for this wonderful reaction! A testament to the beautiful writing of the books is one of my favorite passages from the scene where Harry finds the grave of his parents: "But they were not living, thought Harry. They were gone. The empty words could not disguise the fact that his parents' moldering remains lay beneath snow and stone, indifferent, unknowing. And tears came before he could stop them, boiling hot, then instantly freezing on his face, and what was the point in wiping them off or pretending? He let them fall, his lips pressed hard together, looking down at the thick snow hiding from his eyes the place where the last of Lily and James lay, bones now, surely, or dust, not knowing or caring that their living son stood so near, his heart still beating, alive because of their sacrifice and close to wishing, at this moment, that he was sleeping under the snow with them." Always brings tears to my face. I can't recommend reading the books enough 🧡

2025-04-27 15:10:58 +0000 UTCI hate movie makers for how much hilarious stuff they kicked into the bin. Dumbledore on the Dursley's couch is right on top of the list. As is the Weasleys totally wrecking the Dursley's living room. Also Dobby being employed by Dumbledore.

2025-04-27 07:34:42 +0000 UTCyayy thank you sophie!! this was great and i'm so glad you enjoyed it!! recap since it's been since 6 movies since they talked about the wandlore- harry and voldemort's wands are considered brothers because they both have a tailfeather from the same phoenix in their core, and these are the only two this phoenix gave. a fun fact is that phoenix is fawkes, dumbledore's pet :) the backstory to the mirror (which we just straight up do not get in the movies) is that sirius gave it to harry in the 5th book. he had a matching one and the mirrors basically worked like facetime if you said someone's name into it and they had the other. earlier in the book sirius had been exposed as being in london because a death eater recognized his dog form on platform 9 3/4. so when harry gets the mirror for christmas with a note that says "open this if you need me" harry resigns himself to not use it in order to keep sirius safe. harry opens it once he's back from the battle at the ministry and realizes that had he only opened this and used it he would've known sirius was never in danger and sirius never would have died. he smashes the mirror in his trunk and the first time he sees that glimpse in the shard is when he's cleaning out his trunk at the end of the summer. he doesn't know where the other half of the matching mirror set is though, because it was one of the things mundungus fletcher had taken in his raid on sirius' house. some stuff about moody's death they didn't put in the movie that would've made his off screen death feel less glossed over- moody was the first one attacked, they assumed the real harry would be with the strongest auror so they went after him first. even his death was a compliment of his abilities as an auror. it was also voldemort himself that killed moody, he survived all the way until a fight with literal voldemort and... duh. he's just intrinsically powerful, even before he became super well read and did everything in his power to get stronger. (he's the only wizard we know of who could bend their magic to their will before going to hogwarts) our characters try desperately to locate moody's body but find nothing. we find out what happened when harry recognizes the eye in umbridge's door as moody's... absolutely vile kreacher answers to harry because sirius gave him to harry in his will (which dumbledore reads to harry while visiting the dursley's in book 6, a scene i desparately wish was in the movies) you're correct, jamie campell bower is the actor who plays young grindewald! he honestly has not aged a day it's insane one of my favorite moments from hermione in the books is when they apparated out of luna's house she first brought them to the front yard so the death eaters would know mr. lovegood was telling the truth about them being there. wormtail's book death is much more gruesome. he's sent to retrieve them and harry manages to give him a seconds pause by telling him the only reason he wasn't murdered by sirius and lupin was because of harry. in that split second, the hand voldemort created for him all those movies ago strangles him. they try to pry the hand off but they can't get it to loosen at all. voldemort had put a curse on it so that if peter considered betrayal it would immediately take him out can't wait for the next one!!

2025-04-27 03:34:57 +0000 UTCI don't know if you remember but we've seen the Deluminator before, Dumbledore used it in the very first scene of the first movie when he puts out the street lamps.

2025-04-27 01:23:06 +0000 UTCThose who have read the books or have watched some lore videos (me now) know about the shard. But the first time i watched the movie i was confused as well😅

2025-04-26 20:56:22 +0000 UTCThis movie stands out by how focused it is on the main characters. It ends up feeling as isolating and claustrophobic as the characters do, alone with the heaviness of their task. I appreciated it more now than the last I saw it. Oh, and the shard issue isn't explained in the movies. You didn't miss anything.

2025-04-26 20:05:03 +0000 UTCLoved your reaction once again ❤️🥰 Spoiler free: - They never show this, but when Harry looks through Sirius’s room, he finds a letter from his mom, thanking Sirius for a toy broomstick he gave Harry for his first birthday (Lily even sent a photo of Harry and James playing together). She talks about how happy Harry was, how James was handling being stuck at home, and even mentions Bathilda Bagshot and Dumbledore. It’s such a real, personal glimpse into Harry’s family life — and the movie just leaves it out. - Just to add — yes, Sirius left the house and everything to Harry, so Kreacher had to follow his orders

2025-04-26 11:11:19 +0000 UTCthank you for this reactions Sofie, those moments will always be hard to watch, i send you a big hug.

2025-04-26 06:53:22 +0000 UTCThe last time we saw Dobby was Chamber of Secrets, which ended with Harry making Dobby promise to never try to save his life again. 🫠 Good luck in part two, Sofie. 😅

2025-04-26 05:20:29 +0000 UTCThis part is so frustrating. Not only bc a whole bunch of characters getting killed off even before the finale but of how the script just on kept hacking away at the background and context of the book. Especially the RAB/Kreacher thing, how the sword was genuine or not, down to Harry randomly having a shard of glass in his posession. The next part will do you in, tho. You'll be totally blindsided like everyone else.
