Friends S2 Ep: 05 & 06- FULL REACTION

Comments

The whole money discussion was so relatable and it had to be addressed because it wasn't fair for Joey, Phoebe and Rachel to go to a restaurant where they ordered something they didn't even like and then be asked to be paying a split amount. It's best that they all just paid for what they ordered. The bill being split equally would only make sense if everyone ordered for the same food and drink. As for the concert, buying the tickets for the group was a nice gesture. But maybe the three of them just couldn't appreciate it because the previous night itself, they had spoken about how they can't afford to go to places out of their budget. So, it felt like they weren't heard. But then in the end, it worked out. Ross, Monica and Chandler still went to the concert as they should have since they paid. As Chandler said, nobody is supposed to feel guilty for making the money the make. Whether it's less or more. Joey-Chandler being responsible for the baby was hilariousπŸ˜πŸ˜‚How could they forget Ben on the bus? Seriously insane. But thank god, they found him and got him home safe.

Chrissie Hynde (The Pretenders) can make any song better πŸ˜‰

The actress you recognized is Lea Thompson, who is most famous for being in the Back to the Future trilogy, but was starring in an NBC sitcom called Caroline in the City at the time. This was part of a crossover where her Caroline character appeared on Friends, and Chandler appeared on Caroline in the City that same night. If you look up Caroline in the City on Youtube, Chandler's appearance is the first match that pops up.

Henry

Yeah, I've seen the necromancer actor from Angel in a lot of sitcoms from the 90's: Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond, and The King of Queens, just to name a few.

Henry

There's a fan theory that Ben was switched and nobody noticed πŸ˜‚

I'm super duper house poor. Well, I was able to get a condo before prices got insane. I'm really proud about that. But entertainment like concerts and sports games are just way outside my budget. A good friend of mine since we were kids got in contact with me and kept inviting me to concerts/shows. He made it pretty clear he would have more fun if I was there and I just made it up by offering to drive. He can have an extra drink and I make sure he doesn't have to worry about driving and it made me feel better. We've been friends since jr. high. I appreciate him inviting me and I believe it's more fun with friends than not. I guess I'm lucky to have such cool friends, and I like to think he's happy he can have an extra beer without getting an uber 'cause I'm happy to drive. Definitely a relatable episode. Times are tough.

The money episode is so relatable. Splitting the check evenly among people when eating out is definitely not the norm in the U.S., lol. Everyone will just pay for what they ordered. The actress you recognized in the baby on the bus episode is Lea Thompson. One of her most recognizable roles is in Back to the Future, but she’s been in quite a bit of other things.

I remember when the actor who played Terry was the dad on ALF. Also, I know this was already pointed out, but the doctor was also the necromancer on season 5 of Angel. So many familiar faces in episode 6.

Steve Quast

True! The person on your avatar would agree πŸ˜‚ The way Taylor and Lisa literally re-enacted the last scene from episode 6 on stage for thousands of people πŸ˜‚

Joey and Chandler have to be an all-time great comedic duo. Also I didn't realize this before but I think the doctor in the episode is necromancer from 5x02 Angel who offers Spike Angel's body

I'm enjoying these reactions SO much! Still can't believe my favorite reactor is watching my favorite show πŸ₯Ί

juliet

I agree it annoys me that Ross wanted to divide the check equally. I live in the US and i've never heard of doing that. Maybe it was a 90s thing lol. I've only ever heard of paying your own portion of the bill or if the person your going with is really nice then they will offer to pay for it entirely.

Elsa Reinsch

About paying in restaurants. Yep. That's the difference in cultures between the US and the rest of the world πŸ˜„

MrSlowFloww

Phoebe writing and style gives me a mix between Fiona Apple, Alanis Morissette, Joni Mitchell and Stevie Nicks but like low budget. πŸ˜‚

Also Smelly Cat is the best song ever made πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Thanks for the reactions Sofie! I can see that you're loving the show and that the series is doing you good. πŸ₯ΊπŸ©· It's so good to see you enjoying and having fun during the reactions. I found the conversations in episode O5 really interesting. I think it was important that Joe, Phoebe and Rachel talked about this, because it's common and super relatable. And you won't always be in the same place as your friends on a budget. But what I liked is that the episode shows that we shouldn't let our ego get in the way. Just because your friends say they can't go to expensive restaurants doesn't mean you should feel uncomfortable and have to pay for everything for them. Or just because you can't afford a ticket to a show, feel like your friend is doing it for charity. Because it's not. The important thing is that your friend wants your company and appreciates your company, whether they have money or not. Just set a price limit and make a restaurant adjustment, or adapt the event you are going to, and if the last resort is for someone else to pay, well, it's for the company's sake and not for charity.

I've never clicked play so fast!
