dont bring this in here. Holly and Rose do enough of this high school girls crap without fans like you flaming the fire.

The season 3 finale was actually the first episode of Charmed I ever saw. 😂 I had just moved to the USA, and I was flipping through channels one night and got sucked in by Shannon and Holly’s acting. I hadn’t even seen the rest of the show when I started watching season 4, but I quickly bought about 30 VHS tapes worth of episodes online from another fan who had recorded them when they originally aired (this was in 2001 😂) and caught up. When I first started season 1, Prue was my least favorite sister. But she quickly became my second favorite (sometimes tied for first with Piper). I was able to easily accept Paige, because I had no connection to Prue, having never seeing more than one episode with her in it before watching the season 4 premiere. I’m glad you were so open and willing to give Paige a chance, and that you didn’t just tune out emotionally once you realized Prue wasn’t coming back. 💜 Paige is a very different character from Prue, and the hole left by Prue never gets filled or goes away, but the rest of the show was still enjoyable (some seasons more than others). As for the behind the scenes drama that led to Shannon leaving the show… it’s always been a she said/she said kind of situation. But Shannon and Holly were always incredibly close, and remained close until Shannon passed away last year. Shannon got blamed in the press and painted as a diva who was impossible to work with. But as it stands, Holly, Rose, and Shannon all have/had issues with Alyssa, and got along fine with each other, so it’s hard to see how Shannon was the “bad guy”. Plus, Shannon was BFF with Sarah Michelle Gellar (who seems like a sweetie) since all the way back when Buffy and Charmed were still on the air. I always think the company a person keeps says a lot about them. 🤷‍♀️

I don't see it😂

Major spoilers here! None of us knew when we first watched this where things would go, should probably delete and let Sofie experience the show in her own way without the bias

Shannen received a lot more storylines / better fits / and was always a little more centered than the other two. After she left all 3 actresses were equal imo.

Now that you guys have said it, I see it. 🤣

Sofie and Rose McGowan do look so much alike!

Hi Sofie .. Yeah we all knew this was coming, and Yeeah Shannen Doherty (Prue) left the show There are a few rumours out there about why Shannen Doherty actually died in Real life last July year due to cancer But IMO Paige (Rose McGowan) and You look so much alike lol

Yeah, it was lovely to see Piper come into her own and step out from Prue's very impressive shadow. From Piper taking the lead to finally believing that she had the ability all along, especially considering where she started back in season 1.

I couldn't agree more

It’ll take a few episodes to adjust Sofie, but Paige is great she fits in so well!

It’s been Alyssa vs the other actresses. They’ve kind vilified her but based on Shannen’s history, I think there is some revisionism - or probably more realistically their own biased POV.

I love Paige. She and Piper are my favourites of the sisters. And I love the dynamic change in adding a younger sister. Piper is now the oldest and Phoebe is now the middle. Some people wish they'd killed Phoebe off instead of Prue, but the dynamic just wouldn't have changed enough imo. Just adding a new younger sister. Prue still would've been oldest, and Piper the middle. Unless they introduced an older sister, which I think is the only way that would've worked. The change in dynamic is a big part of why it worked, I think.

For one, Alyssa was more popular than Shannon or had at least more sex appeal (not my opinion, I read it somewhere), also the same "problem" happened with Shannon on Beverly Hills 90210 apparently (conflicts with co stars and her being fired, with Aaron Spelling also the same producer), so probably a combination of those

I have been waiting for your reaction to these 2 episodes. The first I watched it, I was like you, in denial. These 2 episodes always get me emotional not matter how many times I have watched it. I am excited to see you to get to know Paige better.

I don't know about when it aired as I can't remember / not sure if i even followed it back then, but it feels like they had big plans for Phoebe and Cole's storyline and Shannon hadn't really had a proper love interest since Andy. It almost felt like, apart from some great character development in certain episodes, they didn't really know what to do with Prue's storyline. Just a guess.

Now that I think about it, this drama is kinda crazy considering how they talk about the casting for S1 when the show was created because they wanted the sisters and the show to center around Shannon. They didnt even want to cast Holly as Piper because they believed she didnt have the experience to meet the level of Shannon's acting at the time. And Alyssa was a late cast after they shot the pilot episode. So I am very intrigued to know why they went with letting Shannon go over Alyssa in the end. So bizarre. Either way, I think story telling wise, the show pulled it off really well and I loved the direction they took in S4.

Charmed is kinda infamous for the amount of behind-the-scenes drama that was happening on set. From what I understand, Alyssa Milano and Shannen Doherty eventually couldn't stand one another, and often engaged in serious conflict on set which was detrimental to the production. The friction became so intense that one of them (accounts vary on which, though I think it was most likely Milano) issued an ultimatum to the producers, demanding that the other be let go. Ultimately, Doherty was fired.

Me yelling at the screen every time you asked why Paige seems so familiar, “She’s young Cora from Once Upon a Time!” 🤣 Rose McGowan plays her
