2025-01-26 18:22:00 +0000 UTCPhoebe had mentioned having a twin sister that she doesn’t speak to in one of the very early episodes. It was so brief no one would remember on their first watch. As others here have said already, Ursula was a recurring side character on a show called Mad About You. When Lisa Kudrow got the role as Phoebe on Friends, the producers decided to loosely connect the two shows (both set in NYC) and make Ursula Phoebe’s twin sister as a fun crossover.

I don't know how many people still recognize him now. I never watched Mad About You, but I do remember it being advertised all the time with Helen Hunt and Paul Reiser. I don't remember when I learned that Ursula's character actually existed before Phoebe, but I do remember it kind of blew me away at the time. PS As Good As It Gets is such a great film. I like the other ones, too, but for me, that one's the best.

It's not surprising that she was already famous when she appeared in Friends. I'm looking forward to seeing more reactions to Friends! Two episodes isn't enough!! 😍

The two women who walked into the cafe and mistook Phoebe for Ursula were also from Mad About You. It's a fun idea for a crossover, but I could see being completely lost if you aren't familiar with Mad About You.

It's still good, but the other seasons are so much better. Lisa Kudrow doesn't have a twin, they used a split-screen method for those scenes. Leaving the Christmas lights up reminded me of another Buffy reactor who leaves them until summer or even the whole year, because she just loves Christmas so much. People were confused because they thought she filmed all reactions during Christmas time, but then she explained. 😂 The famous guest star in episode 15 was Jon Lovitz, who is known for starring in many comedies, such as Rat Race, A League of Their Own, or Happiness. Also Ross' love interest in this episode was played by Melora Hardin, who later became pretty famous for playing Jan Levinson in The Office. The guest star in episode 16 was Helen Hunt, but I'm actually surprised she was already famous when Friends came out, because I've only seen her in later movies, like As Good As It Gets, What Women Want, Cast Away, or Twister. I'm not sure if the other actress is famous too, I didn't recognize her at all.
