Comments

I can’t stand Sam he will not have the same smoke for Bilbo with his elites bigoted self he’s the least favorite character for that reason

John Walker Is That Dude

Only Elrond is half-elven. As was his brother. Both were given a choice. To choose either a mortal life or the life of the Eldar. Elrond chose to be immortal. Elros, his brother, chose to be mortal, and became the first king of Numenor. The first men of Numenor had very long lives, 8 to 900 years old, but over the generations it shortened to about 200 or so. So Elrond is Aragorn's great-great-great... et al... uncle.

wait, did you know that vigo mortensen broke his toes when he kicked the helmet, thats why he yelled and went down , sheer pain

I've seen this trilogy so many times it stillgets at all the same scenes emotionally. The whole score for all 3 movies is the best I have heard in any movie ad my favourite out the 3 movies is the Rohan theme ead to toe gosebumps every time. I nromally watch these movies once a year before christmas and I decided to watch them on your channel as I've never watched them within a reaction before on my annual watch. I've watched loads reactions but no extended watches other with than Media Knights, who are another of my favourite channels. I love how you pick on a load of stuff that most other channels dont notice. looking forward to pt2 then ROTK next.

The men of Numenor are men from an elf and human line, the first one tho. Arwen and her father Elrond are both half elf but for men it means a long life and high perception and longevity

Gandalf is a Maiar (might have spelled it wrong) and not a god but close- He’s a being created from this stories’ gods creation (Eru iluvitar created a bunch of gods like melkor and manwe) and those mf made shit like the land and the water and their creations included people like wizards and the balrogs and shit, but the god god made things like dwarves and elves and then eventually men and hobbits and other beings that live there and when they sung this existence was when Eru found his solution to war and adversary

Hi, if you're interested in the author's use and appreciation of language, you should watch the movie about him called "Tolkien". I think you would find it interesting.

GoldArthur

I came back to watch this part because when I watched it the first time it cut off early. So I thought I would leave the answer to one of your questions that I haven’t seen anyone else answer. The reason that Sauron and Saruman would not think that anyone was going to destroy the ring is because they would believe that anyone who had it would want to keep it and use it.

Blackeyedlily

You are really blowing my mind with some of your deep but quick and accurate insights. Bravo

Ive watched these movies over a hundred times, i never noticed that that's the first time he refers to himself as me. Finding out his eyes change took freaking years. Maybe because i was a child then.....incredible she noticed both those things straight away.

28:50 Eowyn: "Theodred?" SoFie: "Theo-dead?" Loool meme

So excited for The Two Towers! I just finished the first and couldn't wait! As I knew, your reaction is everything! ❤❤❤ Before reaction channels, I used to play the movies as white noise. It made me feel like I was still close to them. 😂 It kept me immersed in that world, where I wish I could go, like many others.

Seelia

Working on it.

safae mokadem

its gone ?

Justin

Oh yeah that's what i meant, if that wasn't the intent. Thats why was a bit confused re copyright how removing yourself would help, but felt a bit bad complaining if it was intentional, but now wish I'd been clearer about my issue after rereading my original comment. Can see how you could interpret my comment as just the movie going black as intended. both parts and also with prestige are the same am afraid, i got used to it though! Thanks sofie! Loved the vids regardless

lemmy

Ok, I didn't know that the black screen is not just on the movie but on me too I'm gonna fix it and the video will be updated later.

safae mokadem

By the way Treebeard is voiced by John Rhys Davies who also plays Gimli

Chris Illsley

I love the extended version this is my first time watching the extended version the scenes they added make it better and adds more comedy to the movie

Randy F

Well-explained! And Sophie, to further answer your question about Gandalf -- He essentially did die. His spirit returned to the "undying lands" and the higher powers (you can think of them as Archangels) sent him back to try to finish his task.

SJ Lute

"Gandalf the Grey?! More like Gandalf the Great!" 🤣🤣🤣

Camelot VFX

Will we get part 2 today Sofie?

Priyesh Raghuwanshi

Awsome reaction cant wait for part 2 :)

i Vincero

"Me! Not us!" You are brilliant

Saem

You should know when Aragorn kicked the helmet and screamed that was the real reaction of the Actor Viggo Mortensen breaking two of his toes haha

Razzer95

This is a comment I wrote on the last LotR post, but I deleted it because I thought it could be a spoiler for the lore (it has nothing to do with the movies though). But I want to share because Gimli is my favorite character < Possible spoiler > The most powerful elven king asked Galadriel for her hair, but she refused three times Thousands of years later, when Gimli asked, Galadriel gave him three strands. (This was included in the first movie) All the elves were surprised

Saem

Gandalf is bascically an "angel" indeed. Sauron and Saruman and even the Balrog were also "angels" on the same level as gandalf, but got corrupted and are now evil. They were all called "maiar", some kind of angels to the service of middle-earth gods

blblblblbl

Boromir's final line to Aragorn was "I would have followed you, my brother, my captain, my king." :')

Amazing reaction, Sofie! It makes me so happy that you like these movies so much. :-) Here are some hopefully helpful and/or entertaining annotations: - The orcs have always talked. In the first movie, an orc tells Saruman that's it's difficult to cut the trees down, and an Uruk-hai says "Saruman!" when Saruman asks him whom he serves, for example. - Elvish things are often magical, they sense evil and hurt it. That's why Gollum can't eat the Elvish lembas bread that Frodo offers him, and it's also the reason why the Elvish rope around Gollum's neck burns him. - The way the filmmakers brought Gollum to life is truly fascinating. This was one of the first movies to create a digital creature by applying motion sensors to an actor. Andy Serkis who played Gollum did a fantastic job, not only with his voice, but also with his facial expressions and mannerisms. - The Ring can indeed be seen as a metaphor for drugs, but also for nuclear weapons. Which works well because the evil Sauron wants to use it and the good guys want to destroy it. - As for your question why Saruman doesn't suspect they would want to destroy the ring: Both Sauron and Saruman are simply too power-hungry and evil to be able to imagine anyone would rather destroy the ring than use it for their own selfish purposes. - Saruman is clearly delusional about working together with Sauron. Remember what Gandalf told Saruman in the first film: "There is only ONE Lord of the Ring, and he doesn't share power!" (The titular Lord of the Rings is actually Sauron, a fact that many readers and viewers often forget.) - Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn) actually broke a toe when he kicked the helmet, which probably made his scream more believable. :-P - It's actually not surprising that Treebeard has never heard of hobbits. Hobbits live in a rather small, remote corner of Middle Earth and barely ever travel. Most people in Middle Earth have no idea what a hobbit is. - I think the "giant orcs" are probably trolls, because they resemble the cave troll that stabbed Frodo in Moria.

Aha okay doke no worries if its needed <3

lemmy

Adding a black screen helps with copyright so the whole thing is not just the movie footage.

safae mokadem

Loving it so far but how come its going black whenever you're talking when pausing? It's very jarring and distracting esp in a dark room :(
