Seeing this part animated made me cry again! I already cried from the manga. Anyways I think the only thing that would've given hints to them being brothers are their last name and somewhat similar looks. Also their mom was turned into a demon that night I believe. Genya actually eats demons and can gain some of their ability; that's why he looks like he's turned into one.
