His father is the old King who is deceased through Jang Gang's body which was unknown to Jang Uk's mother at the time. Biologically though, Jang Gang is actually Uk's father but I guess when it comes to the soul then he's the king's son. So it’s like he has two dads almost. Three if you count Park Jin as a father figure.

I guess someone who is an idol does give off idol vibes LOL The soul shifter guy inside the horse carrier that absorbed someone's energy at 1:00 of the second part is the same guy on the left at 10:58. He brings royal letter from palace to challenge Jang Uk to the duel. This alludes the guy is working at palace. Also the king who soul shift with Jang Gang is definitely dead

Level 1: Jipsu (ability to gather water energy) Level 2: Ryusu (ability to absorb the gathered energy) Level 3: Chisu (ability to use the energy) Level 4: Hwansu (Ability to change water to fire and vice versa) Basically, no one has reached Level 4 except for Seo Gyeong (founder of Songrim) and someone else that is still a mystery as of now. Park Jin, Heo Yeom, Naksu, Jang Gang and other strong mages we have seen as of now are at most probably at the high stages of Level 3: Chisu. Level 3 is already hard enough to achieve and those at level 3 are usually really strong but Level 4:Hwansu is just a whole another level. Those who reached Hwansu can live forever because Alchemy Of Souls is one of the technique that mages on this level can learn/do. It is a godlike level that pretty much impossible to achieve. However, The Alchemy Of Souls that has been performed in the show so far are using Soul Ejector (kind of an item produced through sorcery) instead of the right way which is to achieve Level 4: Hwansu first. This is why a lot of soul shifters goes wild/petrified, cause a shortcut comes with a bunch of weakness
