Yay so glad you updated and continued with this. I loved ep 2 part 1 so far… although like Debbie I can’t seem to find ep 1 part 3 either…I’m not sure if it’s because you haven’t posted it yet or if I’m missing it. If so I’d be grateful if someone could share the link with me if there is one. Coming back to this ep…The thing I love most about this show is that even when I think it’s a topic I have no knowledge of or any prior interest in… they somehow make it relatable with the tangents they go off and the analogies they use. For example the topic of Hippocrates, and how during that discussion they were saying in medicine rhetoric is important and how that’s an integral part of medicine. Having belief in the doctors words, means treatment is more likely to be successful not only because of the placebo effect but because our minds are so powerful and have influence over our bodies in certain circumstances etc. The car analogy they used is so clever. Relating it to real life… I often think there are situations I come across where mentally I tell myself either I can’t do something or that it’s not for me before I start a task and it becomes a self fulfilling prophesy. Where I only look for the things that confirm my initial assessment (confirmation bias) and as a result I miss out on all the good things that also could have have happened or do happen if I just noticed them, or was looking for them. So it’s defo reinforcing my belief for the need to keep an open mind… it means I don’t put an unnecessary barrier in place. Because when I start the new task … if an existing barrier exists, I will have to work harder to dismantle it first before moving to the next step… And it creates an extra step and it requires more effort etc. I also found Namjoon’s talk on marriage relatable too. I also found the concept of the graph with charm/trust intriguing. How when we don’t know a person, charm is more important but for people we know well, trust becomes the important factor. I’m really intrigued as to how they explore the love topic next. Loved your own stories too guys and how you relate to the different topics etc and also the situations they make you think of etc. My learning experience in school was like yours Cait, where our school prioritised grades, tests etc… so it meant I was more focused on cramming everything to get the mark than retaining it. I’ve forgotten most of what I learned etc. Thanks for this reaction guys! 💜

Hi Cait & Josh, thank you so much for continuing with this series! 😄 I’m currently at work, and am not able to watch it now but I’m certainly looking forward to watching your reaction when time permits. Just wanted to ask though if Ep 1 was actually completed? I may be wrong but I do recall that it was incomplete as I was waiting for Ep 1 Part 3. 😆 I believe the physicist in the group was the last to present in Ep 1 but the two parts you watched of Ep 1 only covered the astronomer and the novelist. I tried looking for another post or link but didn’t find one. Regardless, thanks again for sticking with this series & I hope you’ll both find it as enjoyable as I have thus far. ☺️
