I love the tangents. They are so interesting and they have always have a point that is related to the main story somehow. I do love how they interact with Namjoon. You can already tell that he is impressing them with his questions and knowledge. We've actually been to the moon 6 times. I was born a few days before the first moon landing. Now they have set their sights on Mars because it it more similar to Earth. And if you are having trouble believing this Josh wait until you get to the episode where they guess the direction the world is going to take in the future. The purposed projects for the future are kinda on the crazy side lol! I bought the book they mentioned. They do mention a lot of them throughout the series. Are you taking lessons for Korean Cait or doing a program? I had to stop my lessons recently and I miss it so much. I just need work to slow down so I can pick it up again lol!

I’m so pleased you guys continued… I’m loving this show… it refreshes my knowledge on things I knew but have forgotten, things I don’t know and also how I think about certain topics. In Scotland we have an opt out system for organ donation. If you don’t want to donate you have to specifically say. This is because they found that a lot of people don’t opt in purely because it requires action. So the organ donation list is very very healthy here as few choose to opt out. In terms of Hong Gil dong. He is like a Robyn Hood/Spartacus fictional character who stole from the rich for the poor and stood up for those who couldn’t stand up for themselves. There are lots of K-drama’s about him. The Heo Gye figure is who is believed to have written that book about him. And a real historical person who had an interesting background. So Hong Gil Dong is used as a John Doe type sample name on govt forms etc so in that aspect you are correct Cait. I found Josh’s thought process interesting… I was thinking about the age hearts could live to etc as well until Cait very sensibly pointed out things i’d not considered. I also like the thought that the person who makes mistakes is the best expert for the job as they know where they have gone wrong. Someone new would then go on to make the same mistake… whereas the existing person would know what to avoid etc. it was interesting how they compared that to S.K where the person in charge immediately gets fired in South Korean workplaces or is expected to resign to take responsibility. Also you never know if the mistake might turn out to be a blessing. I don’t know if you remember but In the Soop friendcation Woo Shik tells Tae he made a ‘good mistake’ in organising the trip and that it was a blessing etc. In terms of the art funding… they meant it as in like for example the U.K will give a grant to a writer or artist etc but they don’t expect results immediately…the artists are given time for the creative process… whereas in South Korea they will expect a result and if there is no physical result soon they expect that the artist should be giving lectures etc when that time could be used for the creative process. You could relate it in a way kinda like how Namjoon was talking about how in idol music there is a short shelf life and they expect you to create constantly whereas as true artists you need time etc. I’m excited for the next part with Charles Darwin etc. basically the first ep is each expert introducing a person from their field of expertise with the thought process of making a movie out of their life etc. and they have to say how they would approach it. That’s why some of them introduce figures we already know in a different way… I love the tangents that they go through… so fascinating. I find this show very healing as because of my health, I do not really watch anything other than BTS related content. So Namjoon being on this show has been great. I also can’t wait for Tae’s show in Feb. Look forward to the next part of this show with you guys. 💜
