As per my previous comment, Bok Joo's father was also an athlete. The coach addresses the father as sunbaenim (senior) so that's why he always shares anything happening to the father to seek his advice or comfort. Because they have a senior-junior relationship. As you all might have known, the senior-junior relationship is a big thing in Korea. I think they also mentioned that the coach was there when Bok Joo was a baby and asked why she was named Bok Joo because its a funny name or something. So they are very close :)

When joon hyung went to talk to the doctor, I felt like a part of it was bcuz he cares for bokjoo and got frustrated over his brother. But it’s also how he feels the doctor is to everyone. About being overly kind. It can make feel confused or bad, it can definitely leave room for misunderstanding and leading. I think joon hyung finally also let out how he was feeling. Josh, About the point you made that joon hyung being aid to everyone while he is having hard time internally is true. Unfortunately a lot of us people can relate , I have been there too. I hope that joon hyung also gets the aid and comfort he needs 💙

The coach adresses him as "Sunbae" too, which means they are close to each other. So Bokjoo's father isn't just a parent of his student, but Sunbae and friend. That's why he went there to tell story about the female coach. He just wanted to talk about it with a friend and maybe get advice from him.
