About the cliffhanger , some 100+ episode anime like Bleach or Naruto , they have the side story which sometime take about 10 episode before continuing the main plot and they tend to put this "filler"/ OVA episodes right at the eak of the main plot so imagine you have to wait like 10 weeks before they resume the main plot. Luckily , they are so rare these days but the negative is you have to wait much longer between season. Example AOT season 1 and season 2,

By more detail, I don’t just mean in the images but they have more information. In Chainsaw Man they have cut out scenes from the manga but those scenes weren’t necessarily sexual if I remember correctly. I think they cut it out because maybe it wasn’t as important to the story and there’s only 12 episodes in the anime for this season so they probably want to focus on the more important things. As for the kissing scene, and weather or not it has more “details”, I think for that scene, it is pretty much the same as in the manga. The only difference is that in the manga, the vomit is not censored or blurred out.

I wasn’t sure how they were gonna animate it though. I thought that they might cut it short or not show it. But it is an iconic panel/scene from the manga. Even before I read the manga chainsaw man I’ve seen that panel image of that kissing scene floating around social media and the internet🫠 . Chainsaw man really doesn’t hold back.
