in p2(17:13), Ae-shin enters Eugene's room and sits on Eugene's chair. During the Joseon Dynasty, no matter how much the owner of this room was, it was a legal system to give his/her seat to a person of higher status or older than himself/herself. Therefore, it can be interpreted that Ae-shin naturally sat on Eugene's chair to implicitly show Eugene that "I am above you."

Actually the Empress's family name is Min, and there is only one Min family in Korea, so it is Suga(Min Yoon Gi)'s ancestor. I'm not sure if it's a direct descendant, but it's introduced on the Internet as a direct descendant, and if it's true, she is Suga's great-grandmother. Even if it's not true, it's clear that she's still a distant relative of Suga.

This was during one of Koreas most tragic worst times in history.. its as bad as Nazi Jews holocaust history...Drama starts off in the setting during right before Japan invasion.. most of the "bad" characters that shows their name in subtitles are real people in history. As you'll see, the Righteous Army was an actual thing... ordinary people fighting for their country while the government and people of high status try to sell pieces of land to other countries for money...

'cause i also hate when other country's drama speaks korean. it sounds really awkward... just laugh and pass it. there will be lots of english coming out later.

2022-09-12 04:17:04 +0000 UTCi definitely agree with josh in terms of the speaking english thing. it’s mostly cause the actors just CANT act but sometimes it’s also the fact that english may not be their native language either paired up with the bad acting so that tends to make it even worse

I think its mostly because they are simply bad at acting (they basically find anyone foreign to play roles) but also the lines sometimes? I think the writers simply get the lines they want in english translated instead of having an english speaking screenwriter reinterpret the lines to make them natural for tv if that makes sense... I have watched okja and snowpiercer which have korean and english speaking directors/screenwriters (better actors as well) so the english and korean flowed pretty well together. its definitely the one thing i still struggle with when watching certain kdramas/movies i just kinda block it out now.. just laugh at the awkwardness and try to focus on whatever the main idea of their conversation is
