Your question Josh re: Why the Princess not knowing who her Brother is, the King was raised outside the Palace from the time he was very young, thus the nickname ‘faceless King’ no one knows what he looks like. The Queen became the ruler (Regent until he can take the throne) but she is so obsessed as a ruler and now won’t allow her son to take over.
