2022-07-09 05:54:14 +0000 UTCI agree with Cheyenne and also adding my own comments to this. With Demon Slayer and AOT, they stray from the big fanservice trope that is associated with shounen animes. However they do have popular tropes like dead moms lol. I was actually worried about the weird tropes when you got to other animes, since it can be strange if you are not exposed to the culture of animes and their tropes. Many popular animes are "shounen" which are intended for teen boys as their audience. There are other categories called "seinen" which are marketed to adult males, "shojo" which is marketed to teen girls, and "josei" which is marketed to adult woman. Demon Slayer, AOT, Jujutsu Kaisen, Spy x Family, Naruto, Fairy Tail, and My Hero Academia are all considered shounen. A big difference between these animes is the "intended demographic" so certain tropes and themes are common in each category. Whenever you see popular animes trending, most of the time they are shounen. With any media these are not the actual demographic, but its the "intended demographic", thus things like focusing on girls or being perverted in shounen animes as fanservice is very common. LOL its weird but "normal". Also I think I figured out what Cait almost "spoiled" at the end of your discussion. LOL but I won't write it here to spoil it for anyone else. I'm also liking the anime movie recommendations you mentioned. Honestly there are so many great animes and anime movies. The anime movie Your Name is very popular and highly recommended to people. A Silent Voice is also highly recommended, but I myself have not seen it yet. From some of the titles you mentioned that I can remember, I have not seen Haikyuu, Seven Deadly Sins, and Fullmetal Alchemist, but I know many people have and enjoyed them. I have seen Death Note and Fairy Tail though, which I enjoyed both. If I were to recommend some of my personal favorites, I would mention Erased, Steins Gate, Parasyte, The Promised Neverland, and 86. Animes like Naruto are my all time favorite, but its like over 500 episodes lol.

Of course it's still sad to see in shows and makes you feel for the characters even more but yeah, it's a theme. Not even anime itself but disney movies, pixar, american television shows, kdramas, etc love to depict a sad reality because real life is not sunshine and rainbows. There are people out there suffering and trying their best to fight through their struggles. It's inspiring to see and helps those who are in similar situations. Btw i have NOT seen this anime so i have no idea what's gonna happen. I'm sure you'll enjoy the show. Also that's called fanservice josh. Quite popular in anime. Basically it's whenever you see a camera zoom in on a girl's body parts whether that be panty shots, cleavage shots, etc etc. There's fanservice for women as well but the male audience over powers it. 😂 For this show some women are wearing costumes that show off their figure and can be revealing so that's what tactic they're using here. However most fanservice in anime is very unnecessary. It's a whole thing that more people can explain to you if needed. Just thought i'd let you know for future anime reactions.
