It’s a random thing but I’m watching Business Proposal alongside you guys (I watch an episode on Netflix and then I watch your reaction to the same episode, and repeat that process) and I’ve notice that the subtitles on my Netflix are different to your subtitles. I guess they have different English subtitles depending on if you’re living in USA, UK, or Australia etc 🤷🏼♀️
It’s not massive differences and I don’t think you guys have missed out on many translations/explanations with your subtitles, there’s only a few times where I thought the UK subtitles have translated something better that fits the context more compared to the USA ones.
One big difference though is the cursing, when I’m watching it here in the UK they use words like ‘shit’ ‘fuck’ ‘bitch’ ‘bastard’, but then when I watch you guys react to the same scene instead the subtitles say words like ‘damn’ ‘punk’ and ‘foot’ 😂
Example:
UK - “Sister my ass, it was your dog”
USA - “Sister my foot, it was your dog”
or
UK - “that bastard”
USA - “that punk”
Again it’s not a big deal, it’s just personally I feel like I can’t take the version you guys watch as seriously 😂 I know the USA culturally sees swearing as more taboo compared to us here in the UK, it’s just I can’t imagine anyone here calling someone a punk unironically 💀
