It used to air on tv in my country. π Inuyasha was another late night show i'd secretly watch and think i was such a rebel because the disclaimer said it was meant for older and mature audiences meanwhile i was like nine. π

Those nights are held dear to me.. you really helped me through one of those days, thank you. π I know a lot of anime movies. I'm proud of being such an anime otaku back in the day, my knowledge is vast! ππ So excuse my giant rambling right now.. here we go. A silent voice is a great movie HOWEVER if you're looking for a more child friendly movie to show your girls, i wouldn't recommend it as it deals with heavy topics meant for teenagers and up. Spirited Away (A LEGENDARY CLASSIC), My Neighbour Totoro, Ponyo, Kiki's Delivery service, Whisper of The Heart, The Cat Returns, The Secret World of Arriety, Howl's Moving Castle etc are amazing ghibli movies to show your kids. His films are meant for kids to absorb themselves in fantasy worlds and have great female role models. As miyazaki once said: "Many of my movies have strong female leads β brave, self-sufficient girls that don't think twice about fighting for what they believe in with all their heart. They'll need a friend, or a supporter, but never a savior." There's also mamoru hosoda who creates beautiful stories and very simplistic animation. I love his works and the simple drawings.. i find it comforting. I highly recommend the Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Wolf Children, and Boy and The Beast for you and josh. Most of these movies should be available on crunchyroll and netflix. Crunchyroll is the better option. Makoto shinkai is another fantastic animator and film maker who has recently been boosted up in popularity with his most recent film YOUR NAME. His art is extremely beautiful, colourful, and realistic. You'll love his art. I really liked The Garden of Words from him too. I recommend watching all of these movies in their original Japanese sub. Ghibli however is best to watch dubbed especially for your kids! They have great voice actors and actually.. the main character chihiro in spirited away is voiced by the same girl who did lilo from lilo and stitch! β€οΈπ
