2022-05-18 09:01:38 +0000 UTCI'm so happy you guys are doing this drama its one of the first dramas I ever watched 😊 also the whole mother thing, I haven't finished the reaction so you might've figured it out but in Korea if you are close to someone's parents you call them 'mother' or 'father', even in western countries they do that, my old best friend used to call my mum 'mum' 😂 (ad someone else has already mentioned but in that Run BTS episode where JK's mum tells Jimin she loves him, Jimin calls her 'mother' The way Korean subs normally translate it is if someone is talking to their actual parents they’ll call them ‘mum’ or ‘dad’, and when someone is talking to a close friends parents they’ll call them ‘mother’ or ‘father’ since they still have to be somewhat respectful to them The only time I can imagine someone talking to their actual parents and it’s translated as ‘mother’ or ‘father’ is if they don’t have a close relationship with them and so they’re being more formal on purpose
