As it is an historical drama, and also one that has divided opinions I am not sure how you'll feel about watching it but still I'm going to put the request. Moon lovers / Scarlet heart ryeo Is a 2016 historical drama, it has 20 episodes and is also one of the first roles in which IU played the main character ( many people considered her acting to be bad, in my opinion it wasn' t all that bad, specially since she was new and young) , the other lead is Lee joon-gi ( which in my opinion is one of the most talented male actors in kdrama overall) he did as always an amazing job portraying his character 🙌🙌🙌 The story is a bit complicated but im going to do my best to try and summarize it (without spoiling it of course) A 21 century girl travels back 1000 ( i think) years and finds herself in the body of another girl from the Goryeo dinasty. Also she is in the middle of a "competition" for the throne between brothers ( Baekhyun form Exo also has a role in the drama). I would say it has it all, from romance, to action , political themes, history to some extent and also has a lot of funny & heartwarming moments but.... I am not going to lie here there is a bunch of hearwrenching and realy sad moments as well #RIPtomyheart Even if IU's acting was harshly critisized and the drama didn't do well on Korean charts, it still is one of the most appreciated kdramas overseas) I may be biased but even with all it's flaws I still love this series with my whole heart, it has been 6 years since it came, 4 since I saw it, & let me tell you, i cannot get over it, i have rewatched it at least 4 times already I think is worthy of giving it a chance and I would absolutly love to watch it all over again with you
