Everyone before me explained it well. I was born and raised in Busan, and never been to Seoul before coming to US, so I hardly speak the standard Korean. What V and Jimin taught in this video are phrases that are only used/exist in SouthEast region of Korea. So unlike the case of Jersey, it goes beyond word pronunciation. The phrase: Pah-Yi-Dah (meaning it sucks) doesn't exist in standard or any other regional dialects AT ALL. Funny how it is translated into "sucks" and Seoul Standard way of saying is "I don't like it" in English haha! It explains us so well. Our dialect is not only spoken in low pitch and more aggressive tone, the sentence itself is always blunt and almost angry.. If you ever visit Korea (I hope you do I would cry and cry if your family visits Korea) Busan is tough on the outside but soft on the inside!

an accent is the way you pronounce words depending on where you live, for example Americans and Brits pronounce the word tomato differently (but its still the same word) whereas a dialect is where you use different words/use words for different meanings depending on where you live, for example Americans say 'sidewalk' but Brits say 'pavement' (different words for the same object) or Americans call the circle baked snack 'chips', Brits call them 'crisps' but we also use the word 'chip', its just refers to the thin fried potato slices what you would call 'French fries' (using the same word but meaning different things). Tae and Jimin are talking about dialects as they are teaching use whole words or phrases (a dialect), as opposed to how they pronounce different words (an accent). Hope that helps and wasn't too confusing 😂 All this talk of accents and dialects has reminded me that I don't think you guys have reacted to ‘Paldogangsan’ (also known as 'Satoori Rap'), it’s one of my favourite old BTS songs and it’s all about them showing off their home regions and dialects (you would definitely need to watch the explanation video by DKDKTV to fully understand everything because it’s difficult for even native Korean speakers) I really gravitate to the song because regional tension and various unique accents is something Korea and the UK really relate on, Britain’s known for having some of the most diverse accents/dialects considering the small size of the country and there’s always bantering between districts on who’s accents better (they say you only have to drive one of two miles in the UK for the accent to already start changing 😂) I would love it if you reacted to it in your YouTube channel 😊 it’ll also probably help you understand some of BTS’s jokes in the future since they like to reference their own/another members accent/dialect when messing around (and Tae and Jimin will do more of these dialect lessons in the future so it’ll help you understand what’s going on then more hopefully 💜)

Once upon a time when i told my bff, among all Jhope is the one who dont speak dialect. But after i watched Reply 1988, omg, i heard him speak santoori all the time and i can easily know Busan, Daegu satoori now.. 😂. Im leaving in a multicultural country/States so i speak a lot of dialect. Sometimes i mixed it.

My English is poor. Korean dialects have different words and accent. ex) It's not that good. ( sucks ) : Gyeongsang-do dialect 'paida' = Seoul dialect 'byulloda'
