DISCONTINUE PIGGY BANK ON COMMISSIONS OR RAISE PRICES

I've been meaning to put this together for a while. And I kind of worry about doing something like this but it's becoming pretty necessary.

I had started the piggy bank when my patreon was very small and I didn't expect it to last long or people to build up so much in the bank. I also used to have more time for things like commissions and weight drives that spent the discounts more regularly.

But during my last run of commissions I realized they were more abundant than expected, and I took more off than I could really afford to. So I need to do one of two things:

1) Discontinue piggy banks on commissions. I would still love to try and find uses for the piggy bank, like on weight gain drives (if I ever get to do those again) but there will be no more discounts on commission prices.

or

2) Raise commission prices to accommodate piggy bank spending. To be honest I don't really want to do this one. But it would make commissions more exclusive to long-time patrons who have built up the discounts for them.

I'm gonna keep this poll up for a week. Let me know in the comments what ya'll think. I'd hate to just yoink away something I advertised yall follow for without feedback.

Well shows how much I look into what I get as Tier rewards, I didn’t even know we got a piggy banks. Lol. But yeah seeing some good suggestions in the comments as well, a percentage discount per tier would be a decent middle ground, and lowering how much we get on a monthly bases would also work as well cause a 1 for 1 match is unfair on your end. You could also add a “capacity” to the piggy bank as well like a person can’t have more than X amount of cash would stop hording and might be a good motivator to have people spending in order to fill their bank back up.

If you're looking for any extra feedback, I've seen Patreon pages use the pledge tiers as static discounts for commissions based on their pledge tier (like 5% off for $5 tier, 10% off for $10 tier, etc.). That might stop discounts from stacking too high and also still give the patron is discount, if you're looking for a middle ground?

A possibile third option: perhaps you could make a fractional discount for the piggy bank? That is, keep prices where they are, and allow the piggy bank to apply to discounts still, but reduce the discount per dollar in the bank. That is, $20 in the bank could be equal to only a $5 dollar discount.
