Chapter 266 [Vault]

Title - Lara Kent: The Daughter of Superman | Chapter 1 | Female

_________________________________________________________

I…had died. One moment I was suffering through the abuse of my not so kind parents, hoping they’d stop, and the next…I’m here, in a void, dead. Dying wasn’t as painful as I expected and was far more welcome than the abuse that my parents had put me through, all because I wasn’t “Their perfect view of a woman” whatever the hell that meant.

And now, I was here, in some void. The void was…warm, comforting, as the void of death was around me. That void was…not all encompassing though, as slowly a warm light began to flood my surroundings, as a powerful pulling sensation grew around me, and all I knew was…light.

Her memories after were a blur of speaking, of voices with no faces, voices that were…powerful.

“My child…my daughter…my successor. You shall carry my will, my power, and you shall become truly great, I have foreseen it, my greatest achievement” The powerful voice of a man boomed.

“My daughter, my perfect little daughter. You carry not only the will of your father, but of my people. All that you need shall be sent with you, and all shall be revealed once the proper time comes. Just know, that Mama and Papa shall always love you, our little princess” A feminine voice whispered, as a stray tear hit the cheek of a baby…of the reincarnated girl's cheek.

“My love, we must send her off, if we do not-” “I know! I know, I…I just wished to give her one last gift” The voices grew more rushed, as if something…was happening.

Pressing one last kiss to the babies head, the two unknown figures watched as the ship that she had been placed in, took off into the skies of their planet, smiles on their faces, knowing that the inheritor of their homes was secure, and alive.

‘Wh-Where?' My next memories were of the silence of what can only be space, confusion filling me as I tried and failed to look around, only to realize that I couldn’t, I was in some sort of pod…or ship, and it showed me little.

‘...What sort of place have I been born to?’ I thought, knowing that whatever universe or world I had been reborn into, it was anything but normal, and was nothing like the world I had lived in for the previous 17 years of my life.

My thoughts were cut off as darkness began to overcome me, whether it was exhaustion or something else, I’ve got no clue, but whatever it was, I couldn’t fight it, as darkness consumed me once more.

[3rd POV]

It was a rather…difficult month for one Clark Kent. A month of sadness and heartbreak, as he sat in one of the chairs at the dining room table that he and his wife, Lois Lane owned.

A few days ago he and his wife had went out for a regular checkup on her pregnancy, to see how their daughter was doing. Only to find out that…Lois had miscarried. That they had lost their beloved daughter.

Lois was beside herself with grief and anger at herself. Heartbroken over the loss of their baby. While Clark was…somber, but had to remain strong for both his wife, and the people of the world.

Leaning back in the chair, he sighed. He wondered what to do to get Lois’s mood up. To help her cope with the loss and begin to move forward. But, he found that nothing worked.

Not even therapy.

He had contemplated going on a trip with her, bringing her somewhere that they could just take time off. Like Hawaii or something, anywhere that would bring them comfort. But she had denied it, instead focusing on her work and pushing aside the grief that she was feeling.

At least she was trying to.

As he sat at the dining table alone again, he wondered if maybe he should talk to his Ma about this. She usually seemed to know what to say, how to help in this situation. But he wondered how that conversation would go.

And before he could decide, he stopped and frowned. Far off in the distance, he picked up the sounds of something entering the upper atmosphere of the planet. Something akin to a ship, causing him to get up and race out of the house, appearing in the sky in a burst of speed, his suit on his form as he flew towards where the ship was.

Or more like where it was landing, as he soon landed in the middle of Antarctica, penguins waddling away in fear as he walked slowly towards a large dark craft in front of him. It was alien, and advanced, very very advanced. Just looking at it he could tell it was well beyond anything on Earth, and maybe even more advanced than Kryptonian technology.

Walking up to it slowly, he examined it more, before walking to the front of the craft, and placing a singular hand onto it. The second he did, he leapt back in alarm as the front of the craft opened with a sharp “Crack” sound.

Watching as it opened, he frowned, wondering if there was some sort of invader on the other side. It wouldn’t be the first time.

Only, instead, there was nothing. Which only served to make him even more confused, as he slowly walked forwards and stopped with wide eyes as he saw what was in the small spacecraft. It was…

A baby.

A little, sleeping baby. With a blanket covering its form, which had a symbol he had never seen before on it.

Walking up to the baby, he reached forwards slowly, and began to lift it. Before realizing that it was a baby girl as he held her, looking down at her as he held her close, her form snuggling into his warmth.

Looking into the craft, he stopped as he noticed a small box-like object, roughly the size of his fist as he leaned forward and grabbed it with his free hand, only to look on in surprise as it glowed, the spacecraft being absorbed into it the next moment, before it stopped glowing.

‘What in the world’ Clark thought, looking down at the cube in his hand, and then the child. Looking at the girl, he sighed and decided that he was going to have to take this flight slow, as he began to make his way back home.

Returning home, Clark sat staring at the baby that was sleeping on the couch, back in his casual clothing as he was questioning what he should do.

’I’d bring her to Ma but…she’s too old to take care of another baby’ Clark thought, staring at the girl that had dark hair and was positively adorable. He smiled slightly as she huffed in her sleep, before stopping when he heard the door to their home open.

In walked Lois a moment later, ready to ramble about her day at work, only to pause when she saw Clark put a finger to his lips. She looked confused, only to stop when she saw the baby, her eyes widening.

“Clark, did you steal a baby?” Lois asked, as he shook his head.

“No no, of course not. I-I found her” Clark said, before telling her about the spaceship and finding her in Antarctica, all the while she was staring at the little girl who was sleeping comfortably.

“…So you found an alien baby in the middle of Antarctica? And you thought the best idea was to what, take them here?” Lois asked, inwardly she couldn’t help but coo at the baby, a baby that was so cute and precious.

“I-well, I thought that it was the best idea! If I brought her anywhere else, she’d likely be experimented on or something! And I don’t think Ma can take care of another baby at her age” Clark responded rapidly, seeing that his wife might be angry with him.

“…Okay, and what do you plan on doing with her then?” Lois asked, glancing at her husband.

“Well…I-I was thinking we could…take her in” Clark responded, closing his eyes preparing for his wife’s anger, only to stop when he heard the soft whine of the baby, who was seemingly waking up.

Only the next second he opened his eyes, stopping when he saw Lois softly coo at the baby, her brilliant blue eyes staring into Lois’s as the woman picked her up and held her close.

They looked so…perfect. It looked so…right. And Lois couldn’t help but agree, as she held the baby girl that looked up at her with confusion in her eyes, but none of the crying or whining that a baby usually would have. Not when the baby babbled slightly, before cuddling back into Lois.

His eyes softened when he saw his wife’s begin to well up with tears, as she looked to him “Okay, we can take her in” Lois said, as he smiled and kissed his wife on the lips.

“What do you want to name her?” Clark asked, as Lois looked down at the baby, and smiled lovingly, finding the daughter she wanted so badly, even if she did not come from her own womb. And thus, she opened her mouth and spoke the name of the child that would change not only this world, but ALL worlds, and that name was…

”Lara…her name will be Lara Kent”

That’s the end of the chapter!

This fanfic was half done for the past like…three months, so I decided to finish it. It’s based in Superman and Lois in the first major “Volume” and will not have a love interest until she travels to the second world, this being the “Supergirl” world. Love interest there is…honestly up for debate.

It’s between three people, one of them questionable, this being Lena, Alex, and Kara. Not sure about the latter, but they aren’t biologically related, and it can’t be any weirder than Barry marrying Iris who is basically his adoptive sister.

Another vault chapter should be coming this morning. An R18 one should be coming today too, but that’ll be later tonight. Daughter of God is also getting updated today.

Anyways, have a good day!

Comments

Mostly the Superman and Lois universe, but it will have some AU aspects.

Is it based on the movie universe? After all, that universe is darker. I prefer the movie universe to the series universe, even though they're in the same multiverse, so I could travel between them.
