Writing Update 23/12/24

Gutten...uhh...evening.

It's been...oof...it's been almost a month since the last one of these.

In my defense, I have not ever actually claimed to be competent.

So! The latest chapters of Kaiju Slaying and Saving Yourself!

If you discuss them in the comments, please be vague for the guys in the tiers that don't have access to the whole thing.

But yes! The latest chapters of the stories, both are the ones I was most worried about, because they're rather unconventional. Still, reception seems to be mostly positive, which made me very glad, and hoooooly shit, that was a relief, I'll tell you hwat.

NOW, moving forward.

That whole thing I tried of commissioned stories did nooooot, at aaaaall pan out. But I still think those stories (He Who Fights Demons, Gallows Humors, and Rage Against The Dark) would be fun to see continued. SO! I would like to put it up to you guys.

I was thinking we can do a thing, I'll set up a poll at like, the third weekend of the month, and you guys can vote on one of those three (or more, I might get hit by a plot bunny) stories, and the winner of the vote for that month will get an update, instead of the main two stories.

Also in the spirit of Capitalism, and because I feel like I should really be trying to give you guys more benefits, the votes of people on higher tiers will be worth more. Literally whichever tier you're on, is however many votes your vote is worth. Peeps in Tier 1 get 1 vote, Tier 2 get 2 votes, Tier 3 and 4 get 3 and 4 votes respectively. Maybe make a Tier 5 where literally the only benefit will be that extra vote.

It's the best I can think of. Lemme know what y'all think of that, or just tell me to fuck off with my dumbassitude.

I'd open a Discord, but lemme tell you, I'm an intensely private person. I would literally just lurk in my own Discord if I opened one, which nobody would be happy with. And I don't think giving access to beta versions of a chapter is the way to go, because some of these change wildly from start to finish. And the one that gets posted is the best I can make it, and I do think that you lot deserve the best I can provide, because, again, y'all got me out of dire straits.

Lastly, I will not be posting a Christmas Special. Sorry, the last month has been very hectic, and it was all I could do to not break my streak with writing the main stories.

With business out of the way. I'll say this.

Once again, at the risk of sounding like a scratched record. Thank you. It's thanks to you lot tipping a random dumbass on the internet for writing fanfiction, that I was able to get a handle on my medical bills, and it is thanks to you that I was able to confidently take my dog to the vet when she got sick two weeks ago.

I will continue to do my outmost to be deserving of that aid.

And now, if you will indulge me, and allow me a moment on the soapbox.

I wish you a Merry Christmas, a Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Hanukkah, or whatever it is you call the Christmas-y time of year. I hope it's a good one.

In the spirit of the season, here is the miniature I'm displaying. Body horror creatures from Warmachine. It's Canon that these things are devolved/evolved telepathic/telekinetic humans who kidnap people and turn them into lobotomized slaves and gigantic, tortured, biological war machines.

So of course I painted mine Christmas Themed.

 You can't see it due to the way I posed the model, but it's got a whole lot of little bits and bobs on the back of its elongated spidery cranium thing. And I painted each individual one in Christmas colors.

Here are the creatures they torture people into becoming and use to fight.

 Christmas lights net, a candy cane hook, and the guy on the left has peppermint pulverizers.
