Writing Update 27/11/24

To those of y'all in the US, happy Thanksgiving.
To those of y'all outside the US. This is the time where us United Statesicans come together and eat ourselves into a food coma while tolerating people we sometimes do not like or get along with in the name of tradition.
Or for the less cynical view. A time where tradition reminds us to take time out of our exceedingly busy schedule to spend it with family. And the people who matter most in our lives, even if we cannot dedicate as much time to them as we would like to.
But in the spirit of the thing. I'd like to thank the lot of you. I started this whole thing some six months ago out of, largely, desperation. Fighting the very loud voice in my head demanding to know why I even bothered, it shouted that I was not good enough, that nothing would change, that there was no way anyone would waste their hard-earned cash on a sad flap of skin like me, so might as well just tighten the belt further and suffer in silence, that way I'd at least retain some measure of dignity.
Suffice to say. You lot told that voice in my head to shut the hell up already, along with a big heaping pile of 'I told you so.'
It's thanks to you lot that I was able to get a handle on my medical bills. If it weren't for you guys, I would not have been able to gift my mother a new washing machine when hers crapped out. I wouldn't be able to systematically tackle not only medical bills, but other debts and even put some amount into savings in case of any other emergencies that crop up.
So yes. As cliche as it sounds. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you. And since I'm already talking cliches, allow me please to beseech you to take some time this Thanksgiving, or if you're not in the US, then take some time this weekend, give those you love a call and a hug. Chop up some cheese, get some grapes, or other finger food, and watch a movie together. The day when you will not be able to comes ever closer, and believe you me, no matter from how far out you saw it coming, it'll still surprise you, and hit you like a freight train.
Nobody ever lay on their deathbed and said "Boy am I glad I worked all that overtime."
Now, to an actual update on the writing. Work was rough. Like, holy shit. The project managers demanded essentially 40 hours of work done in three days. And we buckled down and delivered. As a result. I haven't yet written even a word of the next chapter of Kaiju Slaying.
I do, however, have an outline fully mapped out for the chapter. I have a number of scenes planned. And I will absolutely have the time needed to sit down and write. So I actually feel rather confident about my chances. The chapter is battering at the walls of the smooth piece of meat I call a brain, screaming to get out. All it needs is for me to not be friggin' brain dead from all that darn work. So yeah, I do feel there is reason to be optimistic about the chapter being posted on schedule.
Here is a pic of one of my favorite models. My fancy 30k Dreadnaught. This paint job is actually inspired by a Death Watch module I wrote, about Space Marines finding a cache of Great Crusade era materiel, but could never find players to run it for, so I incorporated it into the 'lore' of my 40k army/armies.
