Writing Update 12/08/2024

Good evening folks. Hope the last couple of weeks treated you lot better than they treated me.

As more than likely most if not all of you know; chapter 12 of 'It's About Saving Yourself' dropped two days ago. Let me just say, I am happy to see that Apex seems to have received a mostly if not wholly positive reception.

If you don't like something about my writing. Feel free to tell me. I have my big boy pants on. You won't offend me or hurt my feelings too much. I would ask only that you please aim for polite when you let me know how much I suck. It costs nothing to be kind.

The next chapter of Kaiju Slaying is currently sitting at 529 words. Those words were written on my phone on stolen moments throughout yesterday and today. Funny thing that, I actually had to go to work Sunday. The guy's at the field did what is known as a bit of a boo boo. So what would normally have been a few tens of thousands of dollars repair, is now a few hundred thousand dollars repair. And boy howdy is that apparently my problem.

I say that only slightly to vent. Just letting ya'll know why the next chapter is only barely above five hundred words. The next few days are gonna be a bit tough on lil' old me. But I'm gonna do my damnest to make sure that doesn't impact the quality of my writing.

Speaking of writing, he says in the most awkward transition so far.

Patreon has informed me that the apple store is about to start charging Patreon 30% for having their app on the app store. I have been informed by Patreon that what I should do is click the setting they so helpfully added to put that cost on any of you that happen to read my stuff on an iphone.

Rest assured. I clicked the option that said "(Not Recommended)" and I'm eating that cost myself. Any of ya'll giving me money for my asinine writing, won't suddenly find yourselves paying more for no apparent reason. You lot are seriously helping me out, I do not believe you should be punished for your generosity. I tell you this so that you keep an eye on whatever else you back on Patreon. I know I would severely dislike a sudden increase on expenses without prior notice.

Yeah I'll be making less. But that's fine, I'd rather have a clear conscience than feeling like I'm taking advantage of the generosity of you lot.

That's a lesson I learned a little too late myself, it has been years, and I have yet to forgive myself for that. Don't make the same mistake I did.
