Izuku would make the most sense like in canon but Hikari is exactly the kind of person Mineta wants to be so it makes sense that he's the first person Mineta would think of. I don't know how much it will come up in the story but I can see Mineta keeping a notebook of tips and tricks he's noticed from his idol and studying the 'master' of being a ladies man.

I think Toga is the one that’ll be working on Mina for Hikari and he just needs to let her know he’s interested. Also the scene with Mineta certainly went how I would have expected it to. Yeah he is a pervert like a great many other anime characters but I think the hate comes specifically how he’s drawn doing it. Compare him to Sanji and Master Roshi and while they both are perverted they don’t have Mineta’s desperation to really drive the creepy factor. And maybe also because people get caught up about the people in MHA being underage compared to all other high school centric shows and manga. It’s a little weird. But yeah, Mineta just needs a role model and someone to help him really try to improve himself. Though considering Mineta actually had some scandals in his hero career it may be a lost cause. Good stuff man! Can’t wait for more!

2025-10-14 19:28:44 +0000 UTCPeople hate Mineta for the same reason they hate Issei Hyoudou from DxD. It’s not wrong to like women or to perv on a woman. Just don’t be a pathetic loser about it and expect to have your desires fulfilled just because you want them to with no effort on your part. Issei got lucky that Devils are natural perverts like him, and that he is actually a decent person when tits aren’t in his Line of Sight. Mineta, he’s not so lucky in that in Hero Society being a Pervert is treated as worse than usual, and he is in fact quite shallow in his goals, desires, and personality until he was inspired by Deku and was more or less hypnotized/brainwashed by Mina, as well as broken in and “House-Trained” by Mt Lady and Midnight on how to act around women. They’re not bad people, but they’re also really annoying and pathetic at times.
