Davis Cup World Tour (aka Davis Cup Tennis) is an ... erm ... tennis game. Released in 1990 on 8-bit systems, it was ported to the Sega Mega Drive in 1993 to a mixed response. Simon bought our copy years ago, long before we reacquired an actual Mega Drive to play it on! Surprisingly we've never actually seriously tried to play it, mainly because we didn't have very high hopes for it. I think we did it a bit of a disservice, as its actually pretty playable and entertaining given the constraints of such sports games of the era.
As an added aside for Pareons, we found out that there was a little controversy surrounding it at the time due to its adverising in Europe. Indeed it was voted the 4th worst print ad for videos games by Blockfort. This wasn't because of the woman's naked buttocks, but because of the accompanying headline which was meant to be a tennis pun, but actually just made it sound a little sinister...
