Live Show Archives: 2018 Barcelona Primavera

Hi friends. Ethan here with July's Live Show Archive album. This time it's a little unusual: it's from Primavera, which is a festival we've played multiple times. It's always amazing, maybe the best crowds we've ever played to. This performance, however, has something weird about it: I wasn't there! This was a brief 2018 Europe run which I didn't attend, my parts being filled by the Naked Giants guys. I was recently settling into a new place and was experiencing some heavy tour burnout at the time, so the band was kind enough to let me take that run off as a respite and to get settled in at home.

Part of why I wanted to do this one was to hear a Car Seat performance completely as an outside observer, which I basically never get to do. There was also a Talking Heads cover in the set that I never knew about, as we never performed it with me, so unearthing that little nugget held the same interest for me as it likely does you!
