[UPDATED] Upcoming sort of pricing change

EDIT: I have since discovered that after switching to a monthly format, I will have the ability to pause the fees on months where I did not post. I'll keep the rest of this post intact, but the prices will stay the same and I will only charge on months where I post a video.

For the past year or two, Patreon has been phasing out per creation pricing. As of last November, because of Apple's policies, people using the iOS Patreon app cannot subcribe to anything that has per creation pricing, and in November of this year, all Patreon creators will be forced to switch to a monthly membership. You can see for yourself in this article about per creation billing.

As you know, my choice of doing per creation billing was very deliberate. It let me work at my own pace, with no pressure of expectations to deliver a regular product. Also, I do not release more than one video per month, so it would always equate to less than a monthly membership. In fact, I average about one every two months.

Unfortunately, my hand is being forced here, so starting around October or November this year, I will have to change to a monthly membership. However, like I said, I average about one release every two months. So, while the billing schedule will change to once a month as opposed to every time I release a video, I will roughly halve the price of each tier to compensate! I will keep $1 as a minimum, as I think charging $0.50 is a little bit silly (is it even possible?) and a large portion risks being eaten by transaction fees.

So, here's what the new pricing for my Patreon will look like starting in October or November:

Tier 1: $1 USD / month

Tier 2: $3 USD / month [EDIT: Unchanged $5]

Tier 3: $5 USD / month [EDIT: Unchanged $10]

The perks associated with each tier will not change.
