Hello!
I have made a lot of progress this week. I've been hard at work recording, editing and even finishing up the music. One week since making the schedule, I find myself about one day behind. Not bad, but I'm hoping I can improve this week.
I will say that finishing the music took me a long time and that definitely slowed down my progress, but now that's behind me. Anyway, Here's the progress!
And the schedule. As you can see, I'm missing an earlier section because I figured I would grab clips from later runs to fill in the content I needed, as higher quality is better. So, I'll wait until I'm editing a good resolution run and go back to that section.
And my timeline!
As you can see, I worked up to about 15-16 minutes done. There's a big hole at 10:00 because I found a major omission in my script and fixed it, but I haven't recorded it yet.
Music
I did mention music, didn't I? I finished up all the music I recorded before leaving (fixing up the note timings a bit, correcting minor mistakes, stuff like that) and sent it over to my brother so we could select our favourite piano sounds. The whole process is done now and I have sixteen (16) brand new tracks to use for the video. You read this right: 16 new tracks totaling nearly half an hour (not counting any loops)! I'm away from my piano for almost a year, so I made a big push. I won't be able to record any new music until I get back home.
Screenshots
There isn't much to show in that department. As a history video, my main focus will be on the storyline and the sheer amount of tricks found prevents me from going into detail for each and every one of them. I roughly explain how and why a trick works, but I rarely go into the level of detail that warrants complex visualizations. Nonetheless, there will be graphs and charts in manim and I will be using leaderboards and graphs to tell the story visually - I just haven't gotten there yet.
Missing some footage on the right.
POV: it's January 2000 and you're browsing N64HS for some hot new high scores.

The glitchless Donkey Kong 64 experience.
A rough sense of the phase angle, for phase swimming in Gloomy Galleon.
Explaining the spider fight as Chunky Kong (he deals 3x Tiny's damage with his gun so he can end the fight in 2 phases instead of 5).
That's it for now! I'm on track for a release on the 28th. I'm excited by this project and I think it will turn out nicely!
