In what will be a continuing monthly series, I present to you a mixed-by-me recording of one of our older live shows, uncut and in its entirety. In 2018 we played the Showbox in Seattle two consecutive nights, the second of which included some amusing antics and covers which I thought would make it an enjoyable first entry.
For those who don't remember, this was on the Twin Fantasy (rerelease) tour which also included our friends Naked Giants as part of the group--so this recording captures the once upon a time when Car Seat had three stage guitarists, cowbell and other aux percussion (not to mention our first lineup with keys). Very intimidating to mix, but also very fun and full-sounding. I often miss the bigness of this ensemble, though in retrospect 3 very idiosyncratic guitarists is a lot of deep space explorin' to have come at you all at once (I certainly had no concept of "in the pocket" at this juncture--I was barely out of the era of diming the treble knob, wrapping my arm in electrical tape and then bashing it up every night. I don't think I knew how to roll off a tone knob until I was 30).
I'm stoked to see what other treasure is buried under Old Show Beach. But for now, take care and see you next month!

I love hearing all the little extra interpolations and fluorishes you guys throw into live shows. It always makes for a wonderful listening experience, every concert and performance it's own special thing :) Also I absolutely love the more scream-y vocals Ethan did on Powderfinger here!
