Production update 2021-09-27

Hello everyone!

Now, time for a quick review of how Part 2 has been doing. It's been pretty good! For most of the first week, it sat at 3/10 among my recent releases, and mostly right around the upper edge of usual performance, slightly above, in fact. This is very good, and definitely better than the SMB1 4:54 video's first week. It has been slowly declining, but it could very well start picking up steam again in the next week.

One thing I noticed is that Click-through rate (how likely people are to click on the video) is pretty low. I might have to spice up the title and thumbnail to get that to change. Not something I particularly enjoy doing, but it's unfortunately part of the game, whether I like it or not.

In other news, it also breathed new life into Part 1! As of right now, 1/6 of its total views came after the release of Part 2.

I will continue to monitor them every couple of days and maybe change the title/thumbnail for Part 2.

On to Part 3!

I already finished researching and organizing all the information for Part 3. I had one really good productive day last week where I did most of that in about 8 hours. I'm currently writing the script. I have 50 total talking points, and I'm currently at the 23rd with 5200 words written. This means the script could bust the 10k words frontier, but honestly, I'm not looking forward to that. If that happens, I might actually actively cut some of the less interesting stuff and be more to the point, because I would prefer if Part 3 was only about 7000-9000 words. While it's a bit of a transition part, it sets the table up nicely for the craziness that will come next. It doesn't feel to me like it should be longer than Part 2.

As far as writing the script goes though, I'm chugging along at a decent pace. I wanted to be done by tomorrow, but it might take me another day or two, we will see.

So! Progress looks like this!

That's it for now. In the coming week, I'll start recording early parts of the script while I finish writing the end. When I'm done writing, I'll start editing in-between all the recording. Hopefully, I've started editing by the next update!
