Production update 2020-10-07

First of all, apologies for the radio silence.
Progress on the video isn't going very well, and it's pretty much entirely my fault. As those of you familiar with my whole process, I tend to work in bursts. I can be super motivated and get a ton done in a week, and be in a rut and barely progress the next. Right now, I'm at a low point. I don't feel 100% happy about the script. Recording the music is a challenge because I've been away from a piano for so long. Building useable music from my performances is proving to be more complicated than I thought it would be, and I also can't manage to put into notes exactly what I'm hearing in my head. I don't feel comfortable recording voice lines when the script itself isn't where I'd like it to be. All of this is hurting my motivation, and I turned to dangerous games like Factorio to sink way too many hours into recently.
I do have good news, though. With Super Mario Bros. 35 being out, Kosmic is pumping out video after video and that's keeping me busy and motivated. For now, I'm focusing most of my efforts on editing his content, and when motivation comes back for mine, we'll be right back on track.
I wish I had better news for you guys. I hate coming in and saying "nope, haven't done much this week", so I delayed this update in hopes that I would indeed have something to show for at some point. I can only redeem myself by thinking that at least, you guys contribute per video and not per month. I'm committed to making all of my videos the very best that they can be, and right now I need to take some time and figure out exactly how I want to make these ones. Because remember, this is a huge undertaking that will be split in 4-6 parts, so I need to figure out the tone and approach of 2+ hours of documentary in advance so that everything is consistent in style and in quality.
