Production update 2020-05-26 and a poll!

Hello everyone!

I have good news! My motivation is back. I hit some roadblocks, I had some bad days in the last week too, but overall, I've been making progress and I'm happy with the result. I had started to doubt my script and I was thinking that maybe I didn't take the right approach and all that, but after diving back in it, I do believe I did things right and it's gonna be a good video. Sure, it's not gonna get an incredible reach, but it's gonna be a video that I can be proud of.

So, where am I? I calculated it based on word count in the script, and I'm at 37% of the edit done! I wish there was some feature where I could have progress bars that I could update daily. If anyone has a good idea of how to implement that in a way that would be really fast to update and easy to view (either at the top of my patreon page for patrons, or in my Discord, something of the sort), I'd be grateful. I'm imagining 3 progress bars, one for the script, one for the recording, and one for the editing. That way, you could see at a glance where I am in the production of the next video without having to read my life story every week.

Besides, I never explained why, but the reason I stopped doing video updates after doing only a couple of them was because I found they took too much time out of my day to make. A text post is 10-30 minutes to write at most, and a video update would take me 3 times that to get the same amount of information out. I know text is less engaging, but I like to focus as much of my energy as possible on editing the actual videos.

So, what's the poll about? Livestreaming!

I'm considering doing livestreams of the editing process specifically for patrons. They could be anywhere from 2 to 6 hours long, and I was thinking of doing them every couple of weeks, maybe once a week at most. I definitely do not want to livestream the entire editing process. I'll have to try it out to see how it affects my workflow, and if my computer can even handle streaming 1080p while editing. I would be interested in trying this out sometime soon, having it available for all my patrons, and if it goes well, I would announce it as a new Patreon reward. I believe it would be the most fair as a Tier 2+ reward, which a large number of you reading this already are.

So, please give me feedback by voting in the poll and in the comments. I'm trying my best to strike a balance between providing interesting ways to reward all of you who support me, while minimizing how much time and energy I have to dedicate away from editing videos. Let me know what you think!
