Added 2023-06-14 23:44:12 +0000 UTCIntroducing a new series hosted by me, Will! I did the first one of these impromptu on our Discord and it went well, so I'm hoping to make it into a recurring deal. I'll select a musical subject I'm interested in, and together we'll group-watch videos related to it, chat and expand our musical minds.
This week: Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho, who passed away earlier this month, wrote music in the fields of spectralism, serialism, and musique concrète. My knowledge on these genres is pretty much nil, so my more informed friend James will be joining me on call as we watch live performances of Saariaho's works, and explore more about the techniques and ideas of 20th-century classical music. The stream will start at 4 pst tomorrow, June 15 on our Discord server, and last an hour or two.

Those streams are accessed by joining the stage channel when it’s live. I believe the stage voice channel is called Bigfoot Stage
