When he finally awakened it he was already worn out, would he have it the whole time he might put up a closer fight. Luffy is also extremely young compared to Kaido Big mom and Shanks so there is still much for him to learn. With that said I wonder how he would face the remaining yonko's blackbeard can take away his fruit powers and shank can nullify it with his haki. I'm guessing Luffy has to upgrade his haki before he can face them.

He didn't expect to arrive at Elbaf and even less to run into Shanks. Shanks also gave him a fake ultimatum cause there was no way in Hell Kid is just gonna hand him his Road Poneglyphs. Tough world.

2024-07-14 05:47:43 +0000 UTCI ever said that luffy was Yonkou because he had the powerfull fruit from a god, and he was the last that fight with Kaido. Luffy is not as powerfull as Yonkou, because he can't fight against one, face to face (except buggy) and win. The only way that Luffy could win, is when he got some help, like it was happening in Wano. And for my, Kid had little the same level that Luffy and look as Kid and his crew was destroyed by Shanks, only with one attack. But well, Luffy has time to improve his 'akuma no mi' and have one battle againts Shanks and show why the world can term he, a Yonkou.

It's more so that when I read the chapter the defeat seemed more severe if that makes sense? Though I just looked at the official translation and it seems like it matches the anime. I think maybe a lot of the unofficial translations put more emphasis on how badly they were defeated lol
