Comments

Hello~ So sorry for the late reply, I had some unfortunate events going on.. I would be very happy to help the best I can if Allona ever goes trough with this idea ! I do have to say that I do not have access to my discord (or discord in general) at the moment but I'll definitely get back to you once I recover my acc or make a new one !

Leenseoh

I would suggest Moving, it's on Disney+ and has 20 episodes.. there's alot of past present back and forth so it can get confusing if you're not paying attention so just remember that if you do watch it.. but besides that it's a really good show that I hope comes back with a season 2💜 oh and also so you don't go in completely blind I'll give some key words Superpowers, government, high school.. hope that helps in some way without giving away too much😂💜

💜Sequoia💜

These will probably be the first series of shows that I’ll watch blindly along with you. For the most part, that is.

Mikail B

I would suggest Glory

John Jacob

Hey let's hope she checks it before season 3 comes out lol.

Rebel_R300

Maybe you could check out Mask Girl it came out in 2023 only 7 episodes.

Some of my favorites Kdramas are: Itaewon class, Navillera, Move to heaven, It's okey not to be okey, Weak hero class 1, Alchemy of souls and reborn rich. I'm still relatively new to Kdrama's, but they are extremely addictive. Squid game was my introduction into it.

IBG_Music

Yea Kdrama’s are great! I’d like to recommend “Flower Band” or also known as “Shut Up Flower Boy Band”.

Ian Kirk

You should watch Invincible season 2

Tentomushi

If this new reaction route is greenlit, I'll be counting on your help to schedule them properly for Allona. Do ping me on discord when you can.

Naughtykitty

I love all of the girlie shows

I'm a certified kdrama watcher since 2008. It's FINALLY my time to shineeee omg !! I know people on here will request the mainstream ones, aka those dramas produced by netflix (The glory, My name, Extraordinary attorny Woo, All of us are dead, True beauty, Celebrity, A business proposal and so on......). They are beginer friendly and ok-tier so that's cool (Squid game is a good example), but to balance all of that out, I will also suggest kdramas who are available on netflix but not *necessaraily* produced by them ! 1) It's okay not to be okay (romance, comedy, thriller) > touch heavy topics like mental illness, mental health, various traumas, domestic violence and so on. > korean humour can be over the top. in this drama, specifically, there will be some "abstract" humour, keep that in mind to not confuse reality with 4th wall breaking scenes. 2) Weight lifting Kim bokjoo (romance, comedy, slice of life, school life, family, friendship, TEEN) > very light hearted ! Nothing heavy or too deep. > Great if you wanna watch a feel-good kdrama 3) Mr.Queen (historical, comedy, romance, action, fantasy) This is a beginer friendly historical k-drama. As it is historical, the acting will be somthing to get used to but there's a perfect mix of different genre in this drama. > I will not say it's light hearted but there's nothing too heavy. the plot will keep you on the edge of your seat ! 4) Reply1988 (old school, comedy, family, romance, frienship) This drama is a (fairly) recently produced one but takes place in 1988. It's from a specific series of drama(reply 1997, reply1994) where each one of them takes place during a specific eventfull year for south korea. They did very well with the vintage props and everything. Historical/political/social/economical events taking place in the drama are based on real-life events, from 1988. > Light hearted for the most part but very touching too > VERY over the top humour !!! but if you're used to Japanese dramas, you'll be fine haha >You do not need to watch Reply 1997 or Reply1994 to watch it. The orther really doesnt matter. 5) Taxi driver (Action, thriller, suspence, a litte bit of comedy) > Vengence plot. > main plot with a bunch of short storylines around it > if you're looking for something with action and cool fighting scenes : it's the one !

Leenseoh

She's not looking for a particular genre, just something she will enjoy.

Naughtykitty

When the Camellia Blooms. Only - 1 season

Fogang

Yes please ! FINALLY !!!

Leenseoh

They suggested the following: Tomorrow, Move to Heaven, Weak Hero Class 1, Happiness, and It’s OK to not be OK. Out of those, they pushed Tomorrow the most. There are “girlier” shows, but didn’t know if you’d be interested. Let me know if you are to get more suggestions.

Zonum

If you go through with this, my sisters will finally get their wish of me watching k-dramas. I’ll get their suggestions.

Zonum

My fault, yeah, I watched that. I more meant it to ask if she was talking more akin to squid games or Alice in borderland or something more romance centered

Zerowolf0

For anyone not in the know, Allona already watched Squid Games https://www.patreon.com/allonashareetv/posts?filters%5Btag%5D=SQUID+GAME

Naughtykitty
