I seriously can not believe this. For many of us DragonBall was one of the first anime that had us in a chokehold. Without Toriyama we probably wouldn't have many other great and beloved shows as well. He has been so influential to everyone. This is just so sad and it reminds us of how short life can really be. I know he may gone but he has left such a legacy behind him that through it, he will never ever be forgotten. RIH Akira Toriyama ๐Ÿ•Š

DragonBall, Pokรฉmon, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Digimon Adventure were my introduction to anime, long before I even knew what "anime" was. If it weren't for those shows, I don't think I'd be a fan of anime today. It's really sad to see all these creative, hardworking folks pass away at such "young" ages. I would have expected another 10 - 20 years for each of them. It's like you said, life is too short. - Akira Toriyama (author of DragonBall) passed away this month at 68 years old. - Masamitsu Hidaka (the OG director of Pokemon anime) passed away in March 2022 at 61 years old. - Kazuki Takahashi (author of Yu-Gi-Oh) passed away in July 2022 at 60 years old, while trying to save a stranger who was drowning in the ocean. - I'm not familiar with Hiroyuki Kakudล (the OG director of Digimon anime), but he's still alive at least.

The first anime I watched with my dad and brother. My dad still remembers when Goku mock Frieza about how was going to be beaten by a "monkey". He was silent for a while that another from his generation is now gone.
