If you go in with no expectations you wont get disappointed lol that’s how i feel about it. One piece fans were eating good yesterday, the Japanese voice actors did a presentation yesterday and kicked off one piece day on the YouTube channel yesterday.

But Inaki who plays Luffy is only 5’6.” The man is short and in the trailer Arlong only looks like an inch taller than him… they couldn’t get a 6ft plus actor to play him? I think the makeup is okay for the fishman, but they have him looking so short for the imposing physical presence that Arlong is… getting a taller actor isn’t a matter of practicality or money, that’s just bad casting. This guy better be a really good actor. That’s all I’m saying. As for Shanks, I feel like we need to see more of him. Cause Shanks is definitely a mood more than a look. And why does Sanji have a British accent??? It doesn’t suit his character, but I could be proven wrong and I hope I am. Im just really bothered by Arlong’s height. Otherwise, I feel like this could be really good. They haven’t announced three specific characters that I hope they didn’t cut from the story and that’s Jango, Gin, and Hatchi. Especially, the last two since they really do impact the arc they are in and Hatchi later down the line in the series. Im worried though cause from the trailer it looks like Arlong is showing up at the Baratie??? And I could see them cutting out Gin which sucks cause the relationship between Gin and Sanji is really a driving force in the Baratie arc and leads directly into the conflict with Don Krieg…

2023-07-22 03:51:20 +0000 UTCGreat reaction! This Roger definitely gives Willy Wonka energy, but I'm glad that they're actually showing his death scene in the show. The fishmen could've been played by taller actors, I agree with you on that. OR they could've made it so the camera work made them look bigger in certain angles. I just know that the CG budget would've been too much if they went that route. Shanks looks like a recently divorced father of 6, they could've found someone younger to play him to show off Shanks' youthful energy, but he has to look Buggy's age so they chose an older actor, unfortunately. Speaking of which, LOVED Buggy, I hope the actor plays the role well. It's also possible they went with a Coby that was the same height as Luffy because they want to use the actor during his training arc with Garp. Overall, I think the trailer shows that it can mirror the story's charm, I'm looking forward to this, but I'm not holding my breath...it's only 8 episodes (i think).
