I've given up watching OP weekly since Dressrosa and just let tens of episodes pile up before I binge and then repeat. I took such a long break at one point I was able to binge all of WCI and it was great but I probably would have been less pleased if I was watching weekly. I suggest other people try that out because I really feel like it makes the show much more enjoyable.

2022-02-21 14:25:53 +0000 UTCThat Carrot scene was filler. The worst ting is that it wasn't a terrible filler, but the editing of the scene was. It should have been a flashback while Marco and Big Mom were fighting and ending at the moment that Perospero was going to shoot.

2022-02-21 11:26:00 +0000 UTCI'm a manga reader and I totally agree. Sometimes to make the big story moments really impactful and memorable, the small moments in the arcs have to be dragged out. I think we can all agree every fan would hate to see a small moment of Zoro giving an antidote to Chopper have better pacing than Luffy fighting Kaido haha

2022-02-21 09:56:56 +0000 UTCThat's not a rant I'd say, that's valid criticism. They definitely drag out scenes and kill some of the momentum of the big moments. It doesn't really bother me much anymore since I'm used to it and I read the manga already. But it definitely understandable criticism.

I think the pacing feels really bad at this moment because these are the episodes where they could stretch out the most, whereas you can't do that as much later on with the way some of the chapters are written. I think it will get better though when there are more serious fights, as Toei can always flesh out those episodes with more action that we don't get to see in the manga.

2022-02-20 23:57:46 +0000 UTCWithout any spoilers since I am a manga reader. I still tune in every single week to watch the episodes and I feel sorry for anime onlys. Like even for me when I know what comes next I anticipate something then realize that ain't happening for a while because of how little is adapted in most of these episodes. I can totally understand why some people would rather wait for there to be 2-3 episodes instead cause at least within those episodes the plot advances compared to a week by week basis where some episodes don't even feel like it advanced anything. Some weeks it just feels like a recap of information we already learned the previous week, just rewritten. Sometimes I don't even feel like tuning in just because the preview itself didn't even look interesting. If I stayed anime only I don't think I would have been able to handle it much longer because of how much I wanna know what happens and how the plot advances, I would have switched to manga eventually. For me it's somewhat bearable now since I know what happens already but even then it is still a bit annoying to watch.
