A Plague Of Pathetic PC Ports (The Jimquisition)

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, The Last of Us Part 1, Redfall, there are so many games lately that have had terrible PC ports. Why? Is it even a sudden problem, or just the culmination of one that's always been around? Will Redfall ever not be terrible? How much Manta Force stuff does Steph have?

Good shit here, Steph

I guess it's just a random bunching of prominently bad ports right now, but if it isn't, it might be due to consoles currently providing a similar experience. They're basically mid-range gaming PCs, and can run games well without compromising the visuals. Previously developers were pretty much forced to do it on PC, if they wanted to achieve long draw ranges, fluid FPS, or even both. As a side note: I find it curious that Dark Souls is the obvious pick for "garbage on PC". To my understanding, the PC version looks and behaves the same, with rendering fixed at 720p30, but at least it does so in all locations. So while it is an abysmal port, it was still the better experience.

Agreed it would be better if they were all good ports, but my suspension of disbelief has enough trouble imagining a world with 1 good PC port.

This is kinda just saying "I hope *my* game that I'm looking forward to doesn't suck", isn't it? It'd be better if they were *all* good ports.

The PS3 was the first console that had a blu-ray player. That's why I bought one and still use one for movies.

Hopefully this will be "solved" before the next Horizon game gets released on PC.
