I was really confused going into 7-8 and this was the reason so I am glad I went back to then understand how ep 7 began the way it did.

Just to clarify in case you didn't understand, @7:50 the other guy was not a viking, but a soldier. Askeladd and his people, and that guy are both Danes, but Askeladd is a pirate or mercenary (viking), and that guy is a soldier in the army. Thats why he looked down on them.

It’s a repetitive theme in this anime just a heads up as it does get quite iffy... but its definitely a good insight into what our world was like back in the day. In the manga, rape scenes are shown but definitely not in the anime. Just to give you a heads up on the type of characters we are dealing with.
