2021-09-23 03:55:31 +0000 UTCAs someone who has never had to use ipv6, has had it disabled by syaadmins, blocked from using modules, and have only had huge issues with it, it was never needed. Internal routing made it irrelevant. IPv6 feels like a project from a grad student to see if it worked at a time when we were freaking out over only having 3.2 billion public ips.

2021-09-21 17:37:27 +0000 UTCI do have to disagree on the use of AA games. I think the ‘premium indie’ or ‘published game with more down to earth budget’ can easily be referred to as AA. Especially as those games are probably some of the best games out there - not so expensive to make that they have to be as mainstream as possible and filled with predatory monetisation, retaining interesting or unique vision, and pretty polished or expansive.

2021-09-20 14:43:14 +0000 UTCWorse, quad-A is already a thing elsewhere in the tech industry for IPv6 DNS records (A records for IPv4, quad-A for the equivalent IPv6 which is legit 4 times larger than A records) and the games industry is in no way up to the standards of the networking industry… oh wait.
