Why EA's Dead Space Can F*** Off (The Jimquisition)
Added 2021-07-05 11:24:03 +0000 UTCThere are mounting reports that Electronic Arts is about to announce some sort of Dead Space remake, with the leading suggestion being a reimagining of the original game.
As someone who loves Dead Space, I should be happy about this news, but my apathy is palpable. I am not interested in EA's Dead Space, not after EA drove the series into the dirt and killed the original studio.
This isn't Dead Space. This is EA's Dead Space, and even if it's good, I want nothing to do with the company's opportunism.

2021-07-07 10:02:16 +0000 UTCIt's corpo logic. Before they even start working on something, they give an estimate to investors how much profit they think they'll make on it. If they guessed they'd make $500 million, but only ended up with $450 million in profit, they don't call that making $450 million, they say they lost $50 million on that project, and it's considered a failure.
