The Fucking Terminator (The Jimquisition)

Did you know a new Terminator film came out? If you pay attention to the "AAA" videogame market, you'd know. You couldn't help but know.

Terminator: Dark Fate has been placing its product all over the game industry, treating a number of high profile games like stops on a press tour. The result is T-800s everywhere.

Gears 5, Mortal Kombat 11, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, all three have been plagued by little metal skeletons. More importantly, these Dark Fate promotions turn players into billboards, and those players pay for the privilege.

Let's talk about Dark Fate, product placement, and how companies are doubling down on their marketing promotions and expecting people to pay to become living digital commercials.

This episode was very good. Unchained Sterling showed up.

Amazing. The shoutiest rant in, well, forever, and I don't understand what it's about because I fucking hate Star Wars. I'm supposed to like it. It's right in my demographic. But I don't because it's just another franchise written in a boardroom now, which I suppose is the point of the shouty rant. So I guess I get the context, just not the content? Oh! In that case, well done, Jim.

Yeah, but the trick is as long as people will pay, it'll be for sale. They probably cant believe it themselves, at Epic.

I think Rise of Skywalker is a good movie, but yeah it's annoying that important plot stuff was kept elsewhere, that's becoming a bad trend with films, i've noticed there's been times where important film stuff is relegated to videos on Youtube(Alien Covenant had a few, Transformers 5 had a video with Mark Wahlberg's daughter explaining why she wasn't in this one when she was a major character in the last film) You should definitely check out Dark Fate, it's actually really fucking good and it's a shame that all this promotional stuff kinda devalues it as a film.

...seriously, they get people to PAY for this stuff? I'm not even surprised, just very disappointed.
