Pokémon Sword and Shield - Nintendo's Dynasty Warriors (Jimpressions)

Many grown adults have talked about Pokémon Sword and Shield, the children's game for children. I am now going to say what I think about this children's game that I, an adult, have been playing a lot. Hooray!

It's okay. It's pretty much more Pokémon, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. However, it's quite clear the game needs a proper overhaul, something to drag into the modern day. Or at least the modern century.

Why? O_o, it's set in England... and also... we've had much dumber shit as Pokemon in the past. Also we've had a woman in blackface as Pokemon

I'm just wishing they didn't end up with corgis, apples, teacups and sheep as pokemon. Seriously.

I think it does because it feels horrendeously outdated in so many ways, and there's a lot of things that get in the way of it being relaxing-like constantly having to scroll through text every single time you pick up an item, seriously how has Gamefreak still not fixed that? Jim never said Gamefreak had to "reinvent the wheel" with this game, he specifically said they should keep the great core gameplay loop(which DW9 didn't) while making big changes to things that desperately need them. This franchise needs way more then minor tweaks, especially with how lazy Gamefreak was in literally using the same models from the last Pokemon game.

I feel like I'm the only one that thinks Pokemon DOESN'T need an overhaul. Like, it's beautiful in its simplicity. Let's point out what happened when they tried to reinvent the wheel with Dynasty Warriors? How you liking Zhang He, Jim? You enjoying Zhang He with a sword? Pokemon is just kind of a relaxed, simple rpg where you collect adorable little figures that can fight for you and enjoy a wholesome tale in a wholesome world. Minor tweeks are all it needs.
