Asking Sterling (A Patreodcast) #20

Finally! Another podcast where patrons ask the questions and I answer them for all the lovely people to hear. Today we discuss many, many things. From Red Dwarf to job options to the ethics of buying Borderlands 3. Much talk, much talk! Enjoy!

"Sorry it's taken so long to get back to doing more question answering." Sorry it's taken so long for me to listen to this! Your answer to my question (the Mysterio one) has me thinking. I wasn't familiar with the cartoon you mentioned, where Beck's special effects became less impressive than real superheroes, but I think that would fit perfectly into the MCU. They've already done bits in other movies about how the abrupt surge of superpowered beings has affected average folks, and Homecoming had Adrian Toomes' salvage operation casually run out of business because Tony Stark picked up the tab on repairs to the city. Quentin Beck being a special effects master whose craft can't keep up with real life could have been pretty cool.

First drinks are on me when you come to Pittsburgh! Good luck w the move.

I don't know it's just been me but this is the first time where I didn't need to turn my volume up all the way to hear Jim.

Do we get two casts in one week?! Christmas cake wary!

Did you get the answer you were hoping for Chris? :3

<i>"I'm going to lash you within an inch of your life. Then... I'm going to have you..."</i> x3 It warms my cockles to see that people still care about Red Dwarf. On the subject of Death Stranding, is anybody else feeling as ambivalent about it as I am? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad Kojima is making the game of his dreams with Konami compromising anything and generally being scummy. But when I heard that rumour earlier in the week that the games closing cut-scene was longer than most full-feature films, I kind of just let out an inward sigh and thought to myself "sounds very Kojimaish".

I'm sorry to hear you're so overworked Jim. I mean if anything, the bit where Duke Amiel shows up will be taking awhile, so hopefully at some point you do manage to find some free time, since it's going to be like 2 lines of him calling for Royston. Take care, Jim old boy :(

Running a pre-taped live call in show?
