2019-07-01 17:00:25 +0000 UTCI usually agree with using One Pace but since it wasn't used in Dressrosa (when the pacing was at its worst) it really does not need to be used for WCI nearly as bad since that arc has way better pacing (they add more anime exclusive stuff that actually works unlike Dressrosa). I will say though One Pace makes One Piece way more enjoyable post timeskip but she was already told in the past just to watch the normal episodes.

I only keep mentioning it because a lot of people I know who watched the next arc really hated it since it wasn't very well-paced (worse than Dressrosa apparently) I'd hate for that to happen to you..

What the Yonko have and the others don't is absolute, overwhelming power. I mean, just look at Kaido. Strongest creature in the world. Shanks stopped a huge war simply with his presence. That's the level the Yonko are at.

If you recall Don Krieg from one of the earliest arcs, Baratie, had a 5000 man fleet but, with only a 17M bounty, he wasn't even a blip on the radar, let alone a Yonko. Just having a large crew isn't enough to stand at that level.

Burgees wanted Luffy's Gum-Gum fruit and the Mera-Mera. That doesn't necessarily mean he wanted to eat both, he could have given one or the other to Blackbeard. Theres a lot of speculation on this as to whether Blackbeard is eating all these extra devil fruits they're collecting or if he's giving them to other crew members or maybe even if some of his crew members can hold more than one. If there were other interesting devil fruit users in the arena he probably would have targeted them. I feel like in the final battle he probably would have gone for Barto or Diamante's fruit as well had he not been preoccupied with getting the Mera-Mera.

2019-06-28 04:26:55 +0000 UTCRegarding Burgess: I believe I read in a fan translation of the manga that the reason Burgess pursued Luffy was because of how well the gomu gomu fruit fits with his fighting style. Which makes sense to me. I think it’s important to note that having a rubber body was considered in-universe to be a useless ability, but Luffy’s imaginative use of the fruit has made people realize that it is a far more versatile and powerful ability than previously believed.

But then again, it's probably some minor plothole since he didn't assume that Luffy has the Mera-Mera ability when he targeted him (that part when he jumped off the platform). And why does Sanji's poster have "Only Alive"? You'll find out soon enough.

That brain of yours be thinking up a storm, lol. Also, think you were right on the nose with Law and Sengoku's conversation. It was a nice clear the air conversation where they both got some answers and can better understand the person they once loved. Finally that whole fleet thing it does up Luffy more, but it ain't Yonko status, the strength and influence ain't there yet but he growing. And to think people back in the day thought it was too soon for luffy to have one.

And then Diamante noticed that it wasn't Luffy and it was "the guy from the Revolutionary army" idk if thats exactly what he said but it was something along those lines I'm pretty sure Burgess was right next to him when he said that, since they were both in the water out of the ring
