Another thing, I think it's inevitable that people will thing the Loot Box stuff are stale and/or lazy. I have been following you for quite a while so when it comes to you I will just hit like and let a video play even when I think it's a bit samey. But when it comes to other YouTubers who cover the same kind of content, I don't have the same patience. One look at their video title, and if it's more Epic this, or loot box that, Acti-Blizzard did another thing, I just don't watch them. I'm just one person here, but I hope I can add some perspective? It's a tough position for you to be in psychologically. I don't think I'd be able to handle it better.

I thought that Dark Souls political video was really entertaining and informative. But I understand why it would get negative feedback even though it doesn't deserve it in the least. Something I have learned is that a lot of gamers are either young or immature. If you say anything bad or that could be construed as bad about the game they like, they won't listen to your reasons, they will just turn on you. I've seen this happen to some YouTubers who even have an older audience, and honestly , it's something I only recently grew out of myself, not taking things too seriously, and trying to take a middle ground, being open to listening to a complete thought instead of just getting triggered.

Make a "Dark Souls is Political!" shirt and I will fuckin buy it!

The Rockstar expose, the Division 2 apolitical response and the Dark Souls episodes are my favorite ones from this year, and it genuinely sucks to hear that they are fucking over him. The Jimquisition shouldn’t be forced to only be a weekly news cycle show. I do think Jim should start posting content on Twitch. I’m not at all familiar with the landscape on Twitch, but as big as it is, a game reviewer as eccentric as him would easily a solid viewership of fans that enjoy more editorial video game content.

The internet sucks. I honestly don't know how you have done it for so long and still feel stings when something awesome you did didn't get as much recognition as the time you put in. Seriously though, keep up the good work. It is excellent.

Please don't feel bad about venting; it's good to get those things out. For what little it is worth, I love the videos where you get more overtly political, though I can see why the response would be negative from some people. The "Gamer" types who just want to bitch about Epic and loot boxes probably still don't want to hear real, actual anti-capitalist criticism about video games yet. I do feel the tide start to turn with talks about unionization and the response to Blizzard so we'll just have to see how things go.

That Alien Versus Predator RTS you mentioned was Alien Versus Predator: Extinction. It was on the PS2/Xbox, and playing as the xenomorphs was amazing. I would love a game that was just that.

damn, it sucks hearing the response to those journalistic videos that is so obvious that you had put in so so much more effort, i tried to do my part by sharing these videos as often as i could. edit: Dont worry, Jim, ‘Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva' is a pretty good film that even if you did not play the game, it would still stand on its own.
