Podquisition 250: Miracle Of Sound

After five years of service to the world of inane videogame chatter, Gavin "Miracle of Sound" Dunne is stepping back from our silly podcast. It's been a pleasure and a privilege, and we hope you enjoy Gav's final Podquisition as co-host in this double-length episode.

Best of luck Gavin I’ll miss ya

I can't remember which episode it was from, but one of my favorite bits was when Gav was supposed to have time to talk about something (can't remember what) when Jim and Laura started talking over him again. It goes on for a bit and then Gav pipes up and points out he's been interrupted during his dedicated time, adding "I just won a bet because of you!" I wish I could remember when it happened, I was in stitches.

I have to agree with Gav in a lot of ways. I have also become discouraged at all the shitty things video game companies have done. As a result I haven't played them as much. I never was much of a player but I found my enjoyment of new titles has decreased. Listening to video game news form Jim and YongYea and others is the only thing keeping me in video games at all. It's the same way MST3K kept me interested in old movies. That is, no interest in anything but watching the slow-moving train wreck that the industry is turning into. It would be a joke if it weren't for how many lives are negatively impacted by all this.

Episode 250 is a great way to wrap it up, Gav. Going out both like a boss and on a number that is divisible by 5 :) Best of luck!

I've loved Gavin's work since "Gordon Freeman Saved My Life". I'm sorry to hear of his parting, though I completely understand and empathize with his reasons.

❤️ ❤️ ❤️

all the best wishes to Gav, love your music, hope this does you a world of good, even if we will miss you here :') P.S. Jim maybe this would be a good time to get thejimquisition.com podcast taps fully connected so it doesnt only start at episode episode 132? to make it easier for everyone, as the soundcloud page is a bit messy ^_^''

Gonna miss Gav, but I also like Conrad so that soothes the pain a little. I hope we'll get lots of guest appearances. Surprise music podcasts need to be a thing!

You'll be missed, Gavin. Stay awesome. But I totally get it and I wish you the best. Just remember to drop in sometime in the future and visit, aright? And also: Welcome aboard, Conrad!

I love you Gav!!!! I'll miss him a lot, but am still exited for the podcast's future. Happy to see Conrad step up to the plate. PS: Typical of Randy Bitchford to be so petty ;D

Im torn. On one hand i'll miss Gav. Its nice to have an irish lad every week. But i think it will be fun having conrad on, and i really just want to know that Gav is doing what he wants with his stuff. All the best Gav, keep rocking

Evelyn

So Jim.... you learning an instrument now for the spontaneous solos? Farewell Gav. All the best to you.

I wish nothing but the best for Gavin. I'm truly going to miss him on the podcast, but I'm glad he's prioritizing his mental health and happiness.

From beginning to end, what a fantastic podcast. Take care Gavin. I understand why you're leaving. You'll be missed. Also screw you with the singing call-out ya genius bastard! 😂 That's exactly how I am singing. Keep on keeping on Gav. Can't wait to hear the new music. 🙂 Just a lovely episode. Lots of great reminiscing, good video game talk, and drinking. ❤️

I wish Gavin nothing but the best moving forward. I have been where's he's been and disconnecting from the internet has been wholeheartedly very therapeutic.

Sorry to see Gavin go. To respond to your BL3 issues, the killavolt fight was fixed today so the aoe attack doesn't nuke the whole arena. And the reason the circle of slaughter was so hard was likely that you matchmaked with people doing mayhem mode. Even if it gets scaled to your level, the modifiers are still in effect.

Richard Heck

This is bittersweet in the fact that I'm sad to see him go, but totally understand why he's doing it and support his decision 100%.

Kyle Williams

I wish the best for Gavin! Hopefully one day Laura is able to shit in his pint, though.

All the luck to Gavin in his future endeavors! His mellow voice, charisma and charm will be missed
