Considering they’re planning a prequel about the long night when the White Walkers first showed up, they plan on giving backstory then. As for motive, we pretty much got the motive already didn’t we? At least in the show, haven’t read the books. The children of the forest created them to fight the humans that they were at war with. They created the Night King to kill the humans, but for some magical reason that extended from just humans to all life. Their purpose is to erase the living. That’s all.

For the remainder of the episode all Jon is trying to do is get to the garden to save Bran and if you pay close attention the ice dragon is strictly guarding the garden where Bran and the Nightking are. Jon tries multiple times to sprint past the dragon to no avail.Stuck behind the rock you can see Jon is clearly looking at something or someone (Arya) it makes sense that he wouldn’t make too crazy of a facial expression; when he walked passed Sam and friends getting attacked earlier he barely bat an eye.Moments later Jon Snow stands up to face the dragon and yells “GOOOO GO GO” to Arya as he is creating a distraction. 10 seconds later the Nighking’s general feels a breeze which is Arya the silent assasin sprinting by.It’s the small details.

2019-05-01 03:11:13 +0000 UTCSET UP FROM THE VERY FIRST SCENE IN THE SO!!!.. and the last 3 season where everone is saying every 5 mintues that the ONLY WAR THAT MATTERS IS AGAINST THE DEAD!!! and that they are all just kids playing a game and the only real danger is the whites and THEY NEED EVERY MAN TO BAND TOGETHER OR WE WILL ALL DIE!!!... well apparently it only took what ever jon had left over after the battle of the bastereds and danys army of only unsullied ( cant count the dothraki cuz all 40k died with out seeing them kill a single white) so just unsullied and a half beating northern army ended the only war that ever matter in not just 1 battle but a single night... man that was hard glad we needed every living person in wesotors to survive... oh wait you just need 1 and a half kingdoms out of 7 and your fine... so yeah cercei can fuck off i dont care about her

While I absolutely loved the girl power in this episode and Arya is my favorite character, there were many things left unexplained. I was expecting more important characters to die too(can't believe I'm actually complaining about this haha although it's not really a complaint - it's more like an observation). Also, I would have expected more of the Night King and Bran. I loved Theon though! Died like a hero. And Lyanna... Bless her! She was a MVP as well. I had a lot of mixed feelings and while I absolutely adored the fact that Arya was the one to take the NK down, I wasn't expecting it to happen so soon, I was actually not expecting the war to finish so soon. Hopefully we will get some explanation in the following episodes.

Story wise it never would’ve made sense if the night king was the last villain to kill because it would mean that cercei and Dany would’ve had their battle prior to fighting the night king because of how Cercei is. Honestly, who would you prefer to fight in the end after suffering so many casualties, Cercei or the Nigh King?

2019-04-30 13:28:37 +0000 UTCI was so disappointed you guys 😭 So much plot armor (Sam should’ve died at least 5 times), it was very hard to see and Arya destroyed the NK in 5 seconds out of nowhere 🤷🏾♀️ And tbh it wasn’t Arya’s role to kill him but Jon. They all have their own narratives and own ennemies since the beginning. It didn’t make sense to me
